Really nice seating area outside. Went for drinks on one Saturday, I wanted food but they were only making tapas which I wasn't interested in. The bar is quite small so if they're busy, you are queueing all the way to the outside. Nice spot, though. Small car park at the back.

We visited this place on Saturday 28.08
The staff didn't make us feel welcome at all compared to all the other pubs we visited in the area.
Long story short it says on their website that the kitchen is open until 9pm. We arrived at around 8 hoping to get a meal and a few bottles of wine.
The host was nice and showed us the free table we could take and we were told that someone will come take our order soon. So we waited and waited. All waitresses made eye contact with us but nobody came to take our order. After about 20 minutes I had to go myself and ask how we can order just to be told that we need to wait while the person that was meant to be serving us was just having a chat with another member of staff.
When that member of staff finally came to take our order she was rude and made us feel like we don't belong there.
We asked if the kitchen is open and we insisted that we're there to eat not just to drink. The person serving us said that she doesn't know and she would check, just to return with the wine that we wouldn't have taken if we knew that there is no food, and told us they closed the kitchen few hours ago.
Surely if the kitchen was closed so long ago she would know, but no she didn't tell us and even when she served the wine she didn't say anything so we had to ask AGAIN.

My advice to all people visiting the area is to go to one of the pubs up or down the road where kitchens close early too, but the staff is welcoming and pleasant to deal with.

My question to the management of the Black Boy Inn is why don't they update their opening times on their website and treat their customers better ? I understand it was a busy night, but it takes 30 seconds to answer a question doesn't it ?
