Great walk along the canal and lovely cider/bitter to refresh us on a warm Saturday! Really nice welcome from bar staff. Will stay for lunch next time - menu looks good!

My favourite pub in Rugby (and there are plenty to choose from!). Always a friendly welcome, great beer (2 or 3 well kept ales always on tap) and good food. Kids can play in the big garden and the canal runs at the back of the pub allowing you to walk off dinner!

Outstanding! Amazing service, the owners are so lovely and will go out there way to help with anything you need without hesitation! They accept campervans although it's a pub primarily they will try to offer any services and amenities you will need! Also good company and very welcoming! The food is bob on and they show the football! Definitely a big recommend!

We stayed over in the car park last Saturday night September 26th. We were right next to the canal. The landlord who we checked in with before arrival, gave us a warm welcome and held the kitchen open so we were able to eat. I had the beef lasagne and it was one of the best I have eaten out. My husband liked his curry too and he really enjoyed the 3 pints of 🍺 he was able to down as he didn't have to drive.
I thoroughly recommend the Barley Mow in the centre of Newbold - it ticked all of our boxes. I would certainly use it again if I wanted to stay near Rugby in our van

This was my first visit to the Barley Mow. Having arrived by canal boat. The pub sits beside the Newbold Tunnel with easy access to both local amenities and the tow path walks. So it's a package of relaxing with a drink, pub grub and real ale too. At 3pm the locals were watching international cricket and service from lunch just ended. The staff were welcoming as is the decor traditional and welcoming too. A proper canal side pub!

We have passed this place on the way down in our barge.... it looked a bit ordinary, however, we turned and stopped. The meal was outstanding! Where do you find a lattice as fresh as if being picked 5 min ago at 20.00 pm? All our 3 meals were excellent! .... It casually assumed no fuss for such quality and it was memorable.

We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs and stopped here for Sunday Lunch after a morning walk. The Landlady and staff were superb, accomodating us and the 2 dogs. Very friendly, lunch and deserts were superb and even the dogs were well fed! Highly recommended and we are all looking forward to stopping by again soon!
