A nice pub with a good menu, including vegetarian and vegan options, and helpful staff. We reserved a table and had a pleasant lunch for four. There's also a large garden which would make a nice spot in the summer, including a kid's play area.

We had the Sunday lunch carvery and the food was very nice with very pleasant staff on the whole. They had a bouncy castle on a Sunday and a small play area which my two year old very much enjoyed. The one star review is because of the extremely angry chef, be weary if not every one at your table is eating. He accused us of stealing (as seemingly I'd taken too much food that I might give to my son perhaps?) and how the carvery works on a "system of trust". I completely understand that but also he angrily told us that he'd "heard our conversation" about whether my son would eat his dinner in the evening - best remaining silent when selecting your food I'd suggest.

Manager was very understanding and absolutely no other issues, just be careful with the rudest chef I've ever encountered.

Great meal and service even though the one person behind the bar was also the waiter. He was very efficient and gave good service

Had a great night with friends. I ordered soup of the day and steak and ale pie. The food was very good and was hot and very tasty.
