Lovely restaurant atmosphere and servers, they were very helpful and accommodating. I did like that they had child sized roasts so that was a plus. Unfortunately the food wasn't anything special, quite bland and tasteless (I had a Beef Sunday roast) and for quite a high price. The roast potatoes tasted barely cooked, not crispy on the outside. Not a big range of non alcoholic drinks either (only coke/lemonade or orange/apple juice). However the pudding was delicious - lemon tart and raspberry sorbet (although still quite expensive for a small sliver of tart). So overall a mixed review, however as the main food and drinks really let me down I probably won't be coming back again.

Visited the Kings Head earlier today for lunch with my son. We really enjoyed our lunch. We shared the baked Camembert to start which was lovely and very filling. I had the double burger and my son had the chicken burger.

I would say that their chicken burger was the absolute star of the show. Looked and tasted amazing and the fried chicken was much larger than expected.

Sadly my beef burger wasn’t quite as good but still pretty decent. It was maybe a little dry for my liking but still 4/5.

Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely recommend.

What a lovely hidden gem this is, welcoming, relaxed & friendly with excellent food. Wine, Camembert, with a side of amazing watermelon salad and rustic fries in comfy surroundings!
Would recommend this and I’m very very fussy!
Little touches, spot on, dog friendly
and the best toilets (yes they do matter!)
We’ll be back!

Only popped in for a drink but found a lovely place to sit and have a drink. Although I didn't eat the people who did were served quickly and politely. The food looked lovely too. The staff said good evening when I left. Outside was a lovely garden area and where the pizza oven was located.
I will certainly return this time to eat

The live outdoor entertainment was lovely (though a bit too loud).
The food was good, but took AGES to arrive. The staff were very young and I felt a bit sorry for them, as the table numbers were not always consecutive, and they struggled to find the correct table numbers. It was as though management had just left them to fend for themselves! Why?
The on site pizza oven sold out almost straight away! Very poor planning, which heightened the stress on the pub kitchen.
The black forest dessert was lovely though! Would have that again.

Our party of 5 in my opinion arrive quite late as a walk in. We spoke to the staff and we assured there would be a table free in a few minutes. Sure enough 5mins later we were led to our table which was spotless amid a lovely very full pub.
We ordered drinks which were delivered in a timely manner and we then ordered Sunday roasts.

The food that came from the kitchen in my and the rest of our party was sent by angels as it tasted heavenly. Everything was cooked to perfection, the gravy was to die for, the Yorkshire just the right size and texture.

We finished our meal and had a cheeky look at the desert menu, not expecting to order anything. Well let me tell you the Eaton mess is a creative marvel sweet crunchy and full of flavour wow just wow.

This meal turned our Sunday in one of the best days eating out we can remember.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, thank you..

Brilliant food and great setting.

Staff attentive and polite. Food was delicious (quality of produce) and drinks are reasonably priced.

High- chair provided for my nephew. Happy to accommodate children.

Manager (Tara?) always polite, friendly and serving with a smile. This has clearly resulted in a well-oiled machine with the team around her.

A brilliant venue to have in Hadleigh. Can’t recommend enough…

Would definitely recommend this pub! Called at 16:30 asking for a last minute table of 5 and they managed to fit us in at 17:30. I let them know about my daughters allergies and when we arrived they had already spoken to the chef to make sure she could have something to eat off the kids menu that didn't contain her allergens. The menu had plenty of options and the food was cooked well and delicious, plus we didn't have to wait too long which was great considering they were quite busy. I really wish I'd gotten the names of the two blonde ladies who served us tonight as they really were amazing and went out of their way to make my daughter laugh and it really did make for such a lovely evening. I rarely write reviews but this pub deserves a shout out for such good service!
