Gatehouse

Went here for a meal with my mum. Over all it was a pleasant visit. The we had was good and there was a reasonable range of beers available. I was a bit disappointed to find that both of our first choices for food were not available and that some of the remaining options were also limited. Will be going back as overall had a good visit.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch today.
Never ever again. Sunday lunch was disgusting. It was cold, barely any gravy, burnt rock hard lump of stuffing,Uncooked and still frozen Yorkshire pudding and some sort of excuse for what was meant to be beef.
And it cost £11!!!!!
Seriously don’t bother!

Had some food and stayed for the quiz, the veggie burger was super especially with rosemary fries, quiz was a great laugh. Lovely atmosphere and decor, the flowers outside were stunning!

First time we've been in year ,was pleasantly surprised, the quality of food and drink very good, the staff were a credit to the establishment, will be going again

We had a birthday celebration at the Gatehouse last night. From the me money we walked in we felt welcomed. We were shown to our table that had been reserved at our request. We were served our drinks promptly. We placed an order for food (there was 7 of us) food came out and it was delicious. It looked good to the eye, food was hot and portions were a good size. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was fantastic. Thank you for the team for a lovely evening.

I would give more stars if I could. Went this evening for our daughters birthday and the food was exceptional! 😊 Sarah could not be more helpfull and accommodating along with all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this family oriented restaurant. Also saw there are lots of themed nights planned over the next month, so fun times ahead. Fantastic night thank you so much 🥰

I went to the Gatehouse a couple of months ago with some of my family and was blown away by how good their steak deal is. When I saw the value for money was excellent, £8 for a rump or £10 for the sirloin, I promptly opted for the sirloin cooked rare with the peppercorn sauce. Usually in deals like this in large chains you expect some trade off of quality in exchange for a great price but my meal at the gatehouse was not that at all. The cut was great, no gristle or huge lumps of fat but nice and lean and perfectly cooked! The front of house staff were fantastic and the gentleman in a shirt was attentive and personable and came to check on the food and I could only reply that it was absolutely smashing. Thanks staff at the gatehouse I will definitely return and have this again!

Seven of us went for Boxing Day lunch with our two dogs. It's very spacious and bright thanks to the big windows looking out onto the garden.
The food was great and served quickly but the thing that made it special was the staff. They were all *so* friendly and helpful! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.
