Called in on the off chance of getting a table for 3..It was a very cold windy evening so they offered to light the fire, which was lovely as our table was near the door. My hubby had the mixed grill which had a great selection on and a fab price of £12.99. I had the 8oz steak + ribs which was very tasty..Plates and the food absolutely red hot and homemade chips..We will definately be returning .

Warm welcome from the bar tender, starters arrived quickly and piping hot, mains were a hearty meal. Lovely fresh home cooked food. Just what was needed to set it apart from the microwave pub brigade. Already looking forward for our next visit. Worth a visit and I think great value.

Walked into the bar after taking exterior photos, is it just me who does this? Upon entry i was greeted by Sean the friendly barman and landlord, the local drinkers and their dogs, yes!! A dog friendly pub! You cant beat a dog friendly bar! Unfortunately today the chef is off sick so no food. A pizza is however offered from the local takeaway. There are three ale pumps with a local brewer supplying the goods. They are great brews! All by the same company this week, this is a free house by the way. Decor is fine and toilets are clean and tidy smelling fresh and clean (mens). This is a camra pub and do give the camra discount should you flash your badge 😛

Fantastic place to go, the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and their meals are gorgeous, we'll worth a visit, oh and well behaved dogs are welcome too!

Popped in the duke for a meal out ,lovely meal good price will be back 👍

Lovely food and friendly staff a big thank you to the Scottish gentleman who works there who is very welcoming and friendly. On a Monday do a big mixed grill very nice and good price. 😀

Very nice pub and honest food. It was not a problem to accommodate us without a booking. Very realistic prices and good standard of hospitality.
Interior decor is tastefully done, non of this plastic pub effect that takes away the feel of a true traditional pub.
