Quite disappointed to be honest, some of the family had visited before and were raving how good the place was. So decided to book a table while they were all out of town, the first thing that struck me while being shown to our seat were thick layers of tape holding the bench seat cushions together, not very appealing for first impressions and to say the place is not that old.
Quite a lot of choice on the menu but most of the classics were chicken based but Southern Fried was not available on this occasion. The smothered chicken although very nice came minus the button mushrooms as stated on the menu, the steak ordered medium to well done arrived very well done in my opinion but was still enjoyed.
Some of the desserts were unavailable, the ice cream sundaes arrived with desert spoons making adding entertainment whist watching the kids trying to scoop the contents from the bottom.
Been advised to try the burgers or carvery on the next visit.

Been here a few times. Food is always amazing. There's a good variety of things on offer so even fussy eaters can dine. Wheelchair access is good and they are very accommodating with where they sit you. The only down side is the disabled toilet isn't any good for those needing a hoist and bed!

Great carvery. Was very busy when we arrived without a booking but we're able to find a table. The queue was very long but it went down quickly and our server carving the meat was friendly and efficient even though he was clearly under pressure as he was the only one on. Veg was still going strong even though we arrived later on in the evening. Never had a bad meal here, never fails us.

Saturday night and the place was almost dead! Luckily we had a table of 9 although the food came out at different times, some people had finished before all dishes were out! Most of us left the food as it was a very poor standard. The burgers were awful. I think the only dish that was eaten was the lasagna that wasn’t fresh!! The cider was ok but some of the lagers were flat. This place has so much more potential.

Went in yesterday for a meal as I hadn't been out the house for over 2 weeks due to me being really poorly, despite being super busy we were seated quickly. The food was hot and delicious as always! Will always return here! Also the staff are super friendly and amazing!
Didn't catch the lady's name who served us but she was amazing! See you again soon!

Excellent food quality and variety, despite them being incredibly busy. The beef was incredibly tender and the dauphinois potatoes and goose fat potatoes were to die for! The welcome host was brilliant, so bubbly and empathetic and super keen to help us. In fact all the staff were continuing to be pleasant despite being under an exceptional amount of pressure, the queue for a table went out of the front door for most of the two hours we were there, and obviously the queue for the actual carvery was extensive as a result. Well done team, we will definitely be back, or please set up some more carvery pubs in Nottingham Greene King, there’s obviously a significant need which would take the pressure off the poor staff at Holly Farm who were rushed off their feet and being complained at all by impatient regulars!

Typical "Farmhouse" chain carvery pub. Was very busy when we arrived on a Sunday evening around 6pm, and although we hadn't booked, the staff managed to fit us in. This was greatly appreciated, as usually we get turned away from other chain ones at this time if we hadn't booked.

There was quite a queue for the carvery but once we managed to get our food, it was hot, fresh and perfectly cooked.

We will visit again!

A lovely pub, carvery and cake to take away. Drinks are small selection but the carvery makes up for it. They have other classic menu options and even a gluten-free menu. The giant cake slices are amazing. For deluxe carvery plate size it is around 20 quid each (a few bobs added since that includes that I ordered my drink). Always stuffed and cake away is perfect for tomorrow.

Happy thanksgiving. Remember to have extra turkey for the last Thursday of November.
