Lovely atmosphere, nice setting and welcoming staff. Interesting menu and food tasted delicious BUT such a shame that our 3 fish pies were only lukewarm ...a little concerning for a reheated seafood dish. They took them back and microwaved them warmer but still not piping hot. Would've been 5 stars had the food been reheated to optimum temperature.

Visited here for Sunday dinner, at the time they were busy due to the Nottingham Forest Football game, which wasn’t a problem & we didn’t mind waiting.

Unfortunately when the food came to the table, the lamb shank was found to be very tough & chewy. Half way through the meal despite having our cutlery separated at either side of the plate, with food on the plate, a member of staff attempted to take the plates away. Then ironically another member of staff came over & asked if we wanted anything extra. There just didn’t seem to be much consistency within the service?

One big plus, all the staff are lovely, & the disabled toilet / baby changing room is nice & big, being able to fit a buggy in too.

Lovely pub, we really enjoy popping in for food as well as drinks. Last time I visited, I had a ditsy moment that was entirely my fault when ordering, but the staff went out of their way to change my food at no extra charge, so thank you very much to the kitchen and the floor team for this! Also does a great pub quiz on Wednesdays.

Brilliant pub this!! Super clean, friendly staff and a lovely meal! Credit to the manager! Apparently on holiday. Will tell them in person next time we’re in!. Keep up the good work

Filling /delicious Sunday lunch, most amount of gravy I ever had. Definitely recommended if you are already close by!

We've eaten here at least half a dozen times over the last couple of years, before and after the pandemic, and have always found the food and service excellent. However, we went this evening and were very disappointed.
Four of us chose roast only to find that both the beef and pork were sold out (I appreciate they were probably busy at lunch time as it's Sunday and we didn't go until 6 but even so.....) They were also out of the chicken skewers my daughter ordered (at 6 pm, not late evening). We then ordered the turkey which, according to the menu, was stuffed, wrapped in bacon and came with pigs in blankets. When it arrived it appeared to be sliced from a rolled turkey 'joint' not an actual bird / crown with no bacon or pigs. When we questioned this with the waiter, he didn't seem to understand and just said we hadn't ordered pigs. The veg was nicely cooked and the gravy delicious but the roasties were dry and tasteless and overall it was a very bland plateful. Pretty sure we won't be back again, at least not on a Sunday.

Really love this pub, the staff are lovely. However we’ve noticed the manager being really reluctant to go behind the bar at busier times, when he does eventually and seemingly begrudgingly goes behind, it appears he serves people he knows/friends before those waiting first. However bar staff are super friendly and helpful and food has always been so nice when we’ve been

We had a really nice meal here. It felt very safe sitting outdoors. Would definitely recommend
