Lovely food and very friendly staff. The food is priced very competitively and the chef is more than willing to cook things that are not on the menu.

The pub is very dog friendly and there is a nice warm open fire for them to curl up next to.

Overall a great pub and if you're close it's well worth a visit.

This is one of the filthiest places I have ever had the misfortune to stay.
The pictures say it all !
Zoom in and have a good look.
Check the shelves behind the bar that the glasses are sat on !
It states that the room comes with breakfast.
You get a previously opened bottle of milk, a loaf of white bread, a used filthy tub of margarine spread, and some little boxes of serial, that's your lot.
Check the pictures of the toaster and kettle.
I used nothing and went to tesco for breakfast.
Check the clump of hair on the used bodywash bottle your given.
Live woodlice running merrily around the shower and toilet area.(the doors of which don't stay closed).
We are still living in the era of covid and I hazard a guess that nothing on these premises have been cleaned in the last year.
Oh, and on arrival you will be greeted with a grunt, no smile or welcome.
I wouldn't take the chance of eating there, if this is what the public gets to see, what's behind the closed doors I.e. the kitchen ?
So I took my custom to a pub one mile up the road.
The pub having only three customers and two of those were bikers passing through tells its own story.
I strongly suggest you give this place the widest berth possible.
Whole place needs fumigation and a deep, deep clean.

Stayed at the George inn last weekend for a night as we were diving nearby. The host was really ncie and friendly and offered us a choice of rooms on arrival. He also suggested a local place to eat and made some drinks recommendations of the local cider (which was delicious). We thought we'd left a set of keys and when I called he went and looked for them (they turned out to be in a bag we had with us) but the host was super helpful and really nice. The room itself was lovely. It had everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was comfy, good shower, nice clean room and the road was pretty quiet. We had a great night's sleep there and then we're able to help ourselves to the breakfast provided which was fab - no rushing along to a set breakfast time. Would recommend this place and hope to stay again if we're in the area again.

It could have been more welcoming upon entry, but once in there the service was prompt & friendly. The food was good & lovely outlook onto a small patio area. One downside I wasn't convinced they adhered to covid regulations.

My first post-pandemic visit to this well established tavern. The ale was in fine condition and the novel 'Fish-finger Baguette' a tasty and novel light lunch.

What isn't obvious from the roadside, is the suntrap back garden to the rear of the property. A delight, when the sun does shine.
