Pros; good location for heading into the dales, friendly staff, good breakfast. Cons; agree with many reviewers; in need of a good refurbishment, needs double glazing to keep road noise out (family room next to road) and heat in.

Old school boozer doing the two things right. Good cask beer and great large portions of pub food. Lovely staff too

Friendly staff/place , lovely home cooked food & breakfast all locally sourced.
Only pub in the village that is open, nice village with nice views only downside is pub is on a busy noisy main road, trucks /cars passing all day /night , which you will hear In room 5.
Rooms clean & Fresh , TV signal good, WiFi okay. Shower very powerful, which was great.

Exterior lovely however failed to show when opening hours are and there is no signal in the area so couldn’t find out if it was open or not

Clean and comfortable room, good for one night. Traffic from the road can be heard (not too bad if you're used to living in a town!) and the communal areas and bathroom seemed a little tired. The breakfast was greasy. Great as a stopover, but certainly not a base for a holiday in the Dales.

Stayed over a few months back. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was lovely and portions were good. I had to leave early in the morning so the staff arranged a pack up lunch for me in place of the breakfast. Staff were friendly and happy to help where they can. Only downside is that the Wi-Fi was intermittent in the bedroom. Would definitely stay again.

Overall Disappointing. This place could be so much better.

*Good Points:*
Friendly Staff
Big Food Portions (Evenings)
Nice Flowers on the outside
Convenient Location
Decent Beer
Parking

*Bad Points:*
No hot water pressure in the shower
Wifi doesn't reach the rooms
No o2 Reception
Right next to busy road
Loud Lorries Running all night
Single Glazed Windows
Breakfast starts late (8:30am)
Hard Poached Eggs, and the Sausages look like they were cooked last week.
Bad Coffee.
Very dated, in serious need of upgrade
Long wait for check in (we were the only ones there)
Some staff not "switched on"
Others were great (everyone was polite)
Expensive for what you get i.e. not worth the money. (£92.50 per night)

At very very short notice we needed to book in here. It was past their food orders time. And didn't have a room prepared. But within about 20 mins the room was ready and they put on a great meal for us. Just so helpful and friendly.
Great place.. thoroughly recommended.
