Visited on a Saturday evening without making a booking. We got a table for 4 and the food was really good. We were told there may be a delay in service but there wasn’t much of one. Would definitely recommend here.

Wonderful venue. Used for a professional meeting, looked after and everything catered for. Food at restaurant was gorgeous, fresh and served quickly. We will be back

A well-above average Inn, or small Hotel with very comfortable rooms, friendly & helpful staff. There are extensive casual dining facilities and a large bar. Breakfast was particularly good. The only problem for us was that our room was at the front corner of the building, which overlooks a busy local crossroads. There is double glazing, so leaving the windows open was not a realistic option.

Stayed again this weekend while visiting family. We we welcomed by staff who all recognised us from our June stay. Different room this time but still a generous size tastefully decorated. Made good use of the bar and restaurant and as usual the food was excellent. Thanks again to all the staff. See you in December

..We booked in to attend a wedding a few miles away and wow! We stayed in room 5 and were blown away by its size and furnishing.....we've paid twice the price and more in other places and this room beats any of them.... staff were friendly and helpful....good beers and lovely breakfast....would love to stay again sometime.

My mother booked a table for 6 of us. My sister who is a nurse was unable to make it as she had to do an extra shift. Mum called the evening before to let you know we were down to 5. I didn’t know she has done that so told my daughter whose partner was rained off that he could come as table was booked for 6 people. When we arrived mum was given a lecture (and to say the point was laboured is an understatement) about ringing to let them know. She tried to explain what had happened and didn’t know we were back up to 6 but despite this the lecture continued. It isn’t pleasant witnessing your mum being lectured by someone half her age and it really hacked me off to the point I was just about to leave when another member of staff seemed to witness what was happening and it wasn’t the massive ordeal it was made out to be to find us a table. Either you can accommodate or you can’t when a mix up like ours happens but don’t lecture. Remember who the customer is.

Lovely! A great Sunday lunch after a long walk. Staff were fab. Food delicious. We caught it at a quiet time and will certainly be back. Thanks

Room and environment 10/10, Staff and Service 10/10, Food and Menu 3/10. Menu posted on line and in room info had been reduced, expected dishes had been deleted. 2 meals were chosen reluctantly, however they've both arrived overcooked, the Scampi were like concrete chunks, and the Risotto was very salty and tasted burnt, £30 for the 2 dishes was unfair. Would visit again, but plan to eat out
