A brief stop on my way past for lunch as part of the long journey home from Wales. No delay in service, friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. My only criticism might be the lack of a lighter lunch menu; the menu being the same for lunch and dinner, meant I ate a larger meal than perhaps I'd want for a midday lunch. Tasty all the same though 😊

Just a great pub and restaurant in the Wales countryside. Big space that has a historic feel but a very cozy vibe. Super friendly and nice service as well. Food is top tier for the area as well.

Thank you to the wonderful, friendly staff at the Star On The Hill! We had a delicious lunch today! Sat in the cool, airy lounge and ordered two sirloin's and fish and chips. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked and the fish was the best I've had as was the home made tartare sauce! We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble! We will be back!! Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A brilliant location with lovely staff. Everyone is very eager to help and incredibly friendly. The food is amazing as well. We had the gnocchi and Star Burger and couldn't believe how much thought went into our meals. The chef at The Star is very talented to make a burger and pasta so memorable. Management is very lucky to find such a wonderful team.

My Dad took me here back in November. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were great during the whole lunch period. Unfortunately the restaurant/pub feels cold, they really need to light all fires as it’s an old building and the floors and hard etc. The food, which was really why we were here was very good. My biggest niggle is that I wish restaurants (not just this one) would put your food on a bigger plate! (You could say ‘or give you less’ but I’d just prefer a slightly larger plate please!)
My Steak was excellent, and cooked properly, the sides were also very good, although a whole small vine of tomatoes probably looks better than is actually needed. My fathers was just as good and we would certainly return here, but maybe in the summer months when it’s a bit warmer.

The food here is brilliant! Really enjoyed it. Vegan options available which is fab. The pub has a lovely cozy atmosphere, the staff were all friendly and attentive.

We had the soup start which was spiced butternut squash and it was very tasty, just the right amount of spice. For mains I had the pan-fried gnocchi, carrot & cumin puree, winter veg and greens (vegan) and it was phenomenal! The best meal I've had in a very long time. My husband had the Indian spiced shoulder of lamb, red lentil dhal, cauliflower puree and onion bhaji which he loved too, he said the lamb was perfect. We then had the warm pecan and treacle tart, spiced plum and vegan ice cream which was also good. Couldn't be more impressed with the food.

We'll definitely be back and are already recommending it to family and friends.
