My comments below are no longer valid as the owners cooks are totally different people now so building and gardens will be same real nice but as to food then you will have to read more up to date reviews please.

Original comments for the previous staff and cooks. .....
Great staff. Tremendous food all fresh not frozen. Good clean eating and bar areas even the kitchens are exceptionally clean and tidy. Good play area outside for little people with seating areas for the older ones. You have to try specials board.

Cute pub with really excellent food and dog friendly. Staff were friendly but service was not very attentive so it took a while to order food, and we were finally served about an hour and a quarter after arriving. Fortunately the food was fantastic so it was worth the wait.

We were hosted last minute this weekend as a large group of 20 people who where having a weekend away. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The Sunday roasts were unbelievably good and many of the group commented on how it was one of the best they’d had in a long time! Portion sizes where good and quality of food was brilliant.

Thank you for being great hosts. We’d definitely be back again if we are in the area

We booked in a party of 23 with less than 24hrs notice for a Sunday tea. They took the booking in good faith and put on the best roast dinner. Everyone of us cleared the plate. Kids and dogs were welcome and you couldn't fault the service.

Great community pub. Real Ale and cider in good condition. Good bar staff. Pool, darts & dogs. I didn't try the food.

I visited yesterday as I was performing in a concert in the church next door. It's lovely, warm and welcoming pub with board games, books, pool table, darts and comfy sofas. Lovely real ale and friendly staff.

Called in for a few drinks with our dog after a good walk , we sat right by the fire which every country pub should have, we had a light lunch that was tasty , lots of parking and great staff.

We had a two course lunch here today ( Sunday ).
Pork pate with bruschetta bread and red onion marmalade and side salad.
Field mushroom with bacon bits and rarebit sauce with side salad and balsamic dressing.
We both had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower, broccoli, white cabbage, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, roast carrot, mashed potatoes and gravy.
Quite possibly the best Sunday lunch we have had in years.
Served hot, a generous serving of beef too. Loads of flavour and nicely presented.
Honestly couldn't fault it in any way😁👍
Stumbled on this little gem by accident but it won't be our only visit here.
