Super- went there after seeing A review of the Cardiff restaurant… lovely setting found and knowledgeable staff. Glad to see it full. Sat outside under the tent. Had a starter, main course, dessert, cheese, beer and wine! All in 50£ each ! Will go again and explore the Cardiff venue

Excellent gastro pub which has been recommended by the Guide Michelin for numerous consecutive years. Beautiful culinary creations including their own take on the focaccia, malted sourdough bread and smoked butter, house made cured beef / aka "Bresaola", a cooked leek with ricotta, roasted walnuts and vinegar, rare-roast hanger steak with chips and salad and peppercorn sauce and their own Gnocchi with courgette, tomatoes and aubergine sauce base - delicious. To finish off, we had a raspberry bakewell tart with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - and the price for all that including soft drinks: £72 for 2 adults. Just brilliant! Highly recommend and worth a detour if it's not on your direct route!

Absolutely beautiful food. Went for the 9 course tasting menu for £55, excellent cooking and great value for money. Good choice of wines available by the glass. Service was relaxed and friendly too.

Update: food is still incredible. Loved the crispy pork cheek, the skate, brown butter cakes! Can't fault a single dish.

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Lovely food so still giving four stars but not the best experience this time. Felt chaotic with staff (although very friendly) unsure what they were doing. The H&H is more expensive than a lot of restaurants we visit in the area so we did expect more from the service. We left a little disappointed.

The food is fantastic. Apple soufflé desert was delicious. Unfortunately, the meal was very rushed. Plates were being cleared before everyone at the table had finished, and there was no time between courses. It was as if they were trying to get us in and out as fast as possible. The restaurant itself is also very noisy. It’s not the place to come if you want to enjoy a quiet conversation over your meal. Maybe a few cushions were help dampen down the noise? Great food, let down by the rushed service and noise.

Celebrated our first wedding anniversary here with an incredible meal. We had their three course Christmas menu and boy was it absolutely stunning! The service was incredible, and the staff were very attentive during our entire visit. It was also some of the best food I've had in my life, and definitely the best food I've had in Wales since living here! For a special occasion, the price wasn't as shocking as I had feared either. Altogether a lovely evening with memorable dishes and cosy atmosphere.

Hare and Hounds is by far the finest restaurant in Cowbridge. Situated a few minutes from the market town, the restaurant offers excellent quality dishes and impeccable service. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Hare & Hounds has been on my list for a long time after a pleasant visit to their sister pub - Heathcock in Llandaff. The food was really nice and we tried two local ales as well. Absolutely love the crispy pig cheek and the sourdough! A must go if you are visiting Cowbridge.
