Tasty food, very dog friendly and good atmosphere inside. The staff were welcoming and the whole family really enjoyed their meals. Would recommend for anyone visiting Mathry or the surrounding area; there’s not a lot of dog friendly+food pubs around in Pembrokeshire, but this place was a delight. Will definitely be coming again soon. 👍

Came across this pub completely by accident but it’s a great little pub. My partner is a vegan and they were very helpful with the food choices. The food was really good with large portions (and very reasonably priced). They had a good selection of ales but, unfortunately, driving meant it had to sample the Diet Coke which I can happily report was perfectly fine. Recommended.

Good food. Bar staff could be more welcoming, friendly and less interested in other things than greeting and servicing their customers. Sat at a table with a surface that had not be cleaned down since the last meals had been served.

We didn’t know beforehand, but they only serve Sunday roasts on Sundays (not the rest of the menu). We were offered an option of Beef or Turkey, you get a plate of some meat (which was very dry) a small Yorkshire pudding, two roast potatoes, two parsnips, possibly something else but i’m not sure. There were extra serving bowls (not enough for the five of us there) of mashed potato, sweet potato/carrot mash, broccoli, carrots, green beans, and an incredibly watery gravy. We were sat directly next to the kitchen, where the door was wide open so I was watching a lot of microwaving going on. The desserts were also very unimpressive. I honestly do not know how it is so highly rated, we were very disappointed.

We had a great meal here recently on the first evening of our holiday.

The food was great, you got lots for your money, and the girl who served us was absolutely lovely too!

Good food, large portions at reasonable prices. One of the few places still open and serving food. Would recommend.

Lovely friendly country pub. They totally dog friendly, you can take him inside into the bar. Not like some " dog friendly " place, where you have to sit outside, ok if its a warm sunny day, not so if its cold and wet.
Great food, large portions, quick service. Friendly staff. Will return before we go home.

Stopped in for a drink, well kept ale. Couldn’t fit us in for food, but recommended lots of other places to try, so amazing service. Make sure you book ahead to get a table!
