Fantastic place. Brilliant service, good beer, amazing atmosphere. Simple but comfortable surroundings (which is the beauty of the place). The owner has a great friendliness.

Is there a day where you won't find Nathan White here? Probably not. But that's not a bad thing. Rumours of free cheese and deluxe bottle selection abound

Great little cozy pub with really friendly owners. The beers and ciders are superb and change on a regular basis to give fantastic variety... It's one of this places where you could go on your own, with friends, or with your partner and the locals are very welcoming and chatty (which is unusual nowadays)...

My first venture here, found it warm and welcoming which is rare in big establishments. Great selection of ales and ciders not found elsewhere locally. Live music Sunday and Thursday. Mostly acoustic/folk based either local talent or touring artists.

Cosy little bar with live music. Came in here when we had the foot of snow and the atmosphere was wonderful! Drank beer with good company and played board games for the evening. Definitely recommend :)

Always a warm welcome. Good beers, it's a bit of a bug bear of mine when a pub has several handpulls but beer is kept badly, here Paul has 3 handpulls and beer is kept very well. No food offering as yet, unless you count crisps but at the moment you can take your own in. Live music and no screens make this a great pub.

Updated - Newport's best pub for beer, music and chat. Definitely worth a visit!
