One of the best weherspoons I've been too. Highly recommend it. Only downfall local rugby team turned up and ruined the evening. People walked out as they were just being very loud. Food was lovely and well priced. Good location too. And can stay there which is great.

Unfortunately, as someone who has had some excellent experiences at Wetherspoons around the country, The Kings Head fell well below the usual standards. The ale options were very limited, including only one off-colour semi-local beer. The food was OK but the detail could have been better but least impressive, although the staff tried hard and were pleasant they were woefully ill informed about the products they were selling. This may have been one unfortunate night but as someone who does not usually post negative comments I encourage people who have had better experience to post their comments in balance to mine.

Have eaten breakfast here a few times now. It's always consistently good. Staff are pleasant and always helpful. Food is quick and perfectly fine for what you're paying for. Tidy restaurant and bar area. Toilets are clean. Very accessible for prams, wheelchair users or peeps with mobility difficulties. We'll dinnertime come again next time we're in Monmouth.

Good food, good service, excellent prices on beer. I am staying here tonight and my room is very spacious and clean. Kelly the housemaid was superb In directing us to our room and was very helpful and funny. On first impressions I will definatly return.

It's exactly as you would expect. A really nice historical buildings that's been converted into a spoons. Service was fast and the server was super friendly.

Wait for food was about 20 mins so not bad for a Sunday afternoon. Food quality was the normal cheap and cheerful

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The first night was horrendous- even our 2 little ones couldn't sleep. The pillows are rock hard & the mattress on the sofa bed was very thin.
We were given 2 towels & 2 mugs even though their was 4 of us.
Went to reception but they close it early.
We managed to get some softer pillows for the next night - which did help a bit.
We only ate in the pub once & it wasn't great - burnt burgers & bought our son the wrong meal - the waiter did sort this out but keeping a hungry 5 year old entertained whilst everyone else had their food is hard!
It's in a great location, so it's a real shame the hotel isn't better.

Birthday meal for friend...had the traditional Christmas lunch. Ordered on the app, very quickly served. Beautifully hot, cooked well. Only disappointment was no roast potatoes but what we did have was lovely.xx

Pleasant visit today to this pub. Prompt, courteous service. Food was good value and arrived in good time. Would recommend and would visit again if in the area. Toilets clean and well maintained.
