I have visited this place twice and on each occasion it's been outstanding. Very clean and roomy excellent food wide variety of drinks. The staff were outstanding and made me feel very welcome. Table service was outstanding. Highly recommended

Had a lovely day at the hand Post on Sunday for my nans 70th birthday. Stunning Sunday lunch everything you could ask for including all the trimmings. Was a lovely family friendly pub and will definitely be visiting this establishment again soon. Very good prices and grate food also very clean and tidy 5 star review. X

I didn't stay there ,but dined in once & had tea & soft drinks twice . The staff were friendly ,but poor selections of vegan/ vegetarian foods .The vegan curry w/ fake meat was very nice ,but no veggies in it at all !! So,it was lacking of nutritious ! If they added carrots / peas in it the least ,it would had been excellent !! I had a waffle there ,too & it was delicious. The toilet was clean . I went there as my childhood friend( my 1st boyfriend & his dad )used to stay there sometimes ,I was hoping to get some information on his dad ,but I didn't get much of help. The owners changed . I was told. But ,since my late soulmate became a celebrity & a local hero ,I thought some of them would know !The bar & outdoor seating area ( tables/ benches ) looked busy & locals / regulars were having good times there !! Be aware of no food servings on Sundays !! But,you can bring your own food & eat it there as long as you order/ buy a drink there ! I really liked the decorations & window side tables ( booth ) !There are 3 bus stops right by this Inn / pub so that I'm sure many tourists / people find it very convenient as I did ! You have to raise your hand or wave at bus drivers ,otherwise they won't stop ( only a couple did ,but the most didn't )!! A very good place to stop by on your way to ,or way back from St.Woolos cemetery. Which is a gorgeous cemetery, btw.!!

Five of us had a very enjoyable lunch. We even ordered things not on the menu! Excellent value too. Redecorated recently as well.

Only Green King in Newport worth visiting, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and we always stop after work, and it seems they keep their regulars happy on one side of bar, and other side more family and couple friendly. Nice larger although real ale range could be improved

Fantastic place for a drink with lots of amenities and fast food places near by. Small car park. Excellent selection of alcohol. Clean venue and friendly staff. Quiz is on every Thursday though in my opinion it is catered for the over 40/50s, still really good fun.
It has recently been renovated so it looks even better than it did before. Definitely recommend.

We were looking for a bite to eat and a nice relaxing atmosphere to enjoy on a cold Saturday afternoon and we weren’t disappointed.

We both had the double cheese and bacon burger and shared a cheesy garlic bread. The burgers were fresh and were definitely not from frozen, the bacon was the same. The chips were fantastic and fried fresh.

A lovely pint of Guinness too, all at a very reasonable £34 for both us including a drink. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Phenomenal New Years party, superb food excellent quality and value for money, staff go above and beyond such a friendly family atmosphere we were made really welcome. Cannot praise the staff enough. Superbly run clean and good value for money what mote could you want
