If you enjoy eating tasty, well cooked food and plenty of it in a traditional pub setting this is the place to visit. The landlord's manner initially seemed a bit abrupt but he was actually friendly and chatty.

Very welcoming and friendly landlord and landlady. Excellent choice on the menu. Pub was lovely and warm on a day with subzero temperatures; woodburner made it very cozy! We will definitely return.

Arrived without booking but a table was found and we had a great meal. Really fresh battered cod , home made. With chips and peas. One vegetarian option on menu . It was a homemade brie and beetroot tart with good pastry. Excellent Brakes pear cask ale. Adequate car park. Some outside tables in quiet village setting. Nice clean toilets. Wheel chair access.
