The Standard Inn

The food was amazing! The fish in the f&c is locally sourced and absolutely delicious. My friend had the scallops which were some of the best he'd ever had. The lamb chops were had by 2 of the party and they were both raving about it.

I would highly recommend eating here if you're ever in Rye.

Excellent service: professional, friendly, prompt table service. Food excellent, and good value for money. Lovely, lively, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. General manager was so lovely, warm, warm and welcoming and caring. We were not rushed or hurried with our food, could keep table as long as we needed it. Excellent.

A great location, comfortable stylish room very friendly and helpful staff and excellent food and drink. We visited for a night as an escape from London and loved our short break. The staff were great, the manager Lucy was extremely helpful and on check in the bar guy seemed genuinely happy to be doing his job something you don't see much, at breakfast the next day we encountered more good service and we had a great nights sleep in a very comfy bed that was lovely and cool even when boiling outside and nice and quiet at night. We had dinner and drinks in the bar which was delicious a great pie and lovely bit of sea bass washed down with a nice cool bottle of rose. We will definitely be back if we're in the area and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice break in Rye

We ate here on the 15th of August and had a lovely meal.
You can't book a table so I would recommend you get here early as it's very popular.
Once you are seated you aren't rushed at all and can stay as long as you need.
Both our meals were superb and the service was excellent, the bar staff were very polite and helpful too.
A good choice of food well presented and delicious.
We ended up having 3 courses .
I would highly recommend if you are visiting rye .

Rye was really busy when we visited so it was really welcome when we found that the Standard Inn took walk-ins and the treat that was before us! The food and service was excellent, I would recommend the local marsh lamb cooked to perfection served with the best Crockett potatoes I have ever tasted. I would also recommend the cheese board, great local cheeses with home made chutney, delicious 😋

Managed to get a table though had to wait a little while as it is very busy all the time. You can understand why it is so busy as the food and service is fantastic, from oysters, scallops, mussels, steak and ale pie , all excellent. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. If i lived near Rye i would be there all the time.

Fantastic food & beer! We a great time enjoying the Burger, Salmon Resotto and more! The food was exceptional. They also have rooms to stay in which are lovely as well. Would highly recommend!

Disappointing on this visit. We've been here three or four times previously and it was one of our favourites. Unfortunately not so much this time. Its still a lovely place to sit for a drink but the food wasn't up to the same standards we'd had before. The service was good though and they removed one of the dishes from our bill which we'd sent back. I hope it was just an off day for the kitchen.
