We ordered the seafood and meat gumbo. Unfortunately, awful. But it wasn’t just the food that was a let down.

The seafood gumbo was lukewarm with prawns the size of peas. The white fish and haddock had simply disintegrated. I’m sorry to say that the broth was nothing more than watery stock. Very disappointing for £14. My partner ate half of the meat gumbo out of pure hunger, but I gave up after two mouthfuls.

The most disappointing part for us was the service. No acknowledgement of the plate being returned full, and we really do not like to complain but felt it was only right to raise the fact that the food was lukewarm and I was unable to enjoy any of it - we received a smirk and a shrug of the shoulders before walking off. Which obviously made us feel angry and so incredibly disappointed that we’d just wasted £40 and left hungry.

Why is it acceptable to take peoples money, serve mediocre food, and provide a substandard service? Times are hard and peoples are spending hard earned money! Don’t take custom for granted. So incredibly disappointing

Popped in for food and drink on a wet Sunday. The ale was lovely and the Sunday lunch was fantastic.
Dog friendly, with wonderful helpful staff.

We came here while we were staying at a caravan park nearby. The food was nice. But the service was absolutely appalling. I dont usually review for bad service but the woman behind the bar was extremely rude. She didnt say hi, she got the drinks order wrong and didnt even speak as she left the cutlery on the table and bought the food to the table. Our plates were cleared before everyone had finished and didnt ask if everything was ok. Having worked in the hospitality industry for years it doesnt take much to say hi and thanks. The food was lovely but unfortunately we will not be returning due to the rude service from the woman behind the bar.

.Was worried after reading the reviews..but we enjoyed our visit Just don't expect too much and you will not be disappointed.. Friendly welcome and okay food.. I would personally only eat the homemade items. The decor and atmosphere was perfect

Called in with group of 5 for a quick drink on a Saturday night for a quick drink before going on elsewhere for food. Young lady behind bar served drinks quickly and with a friendly demeanor. Two of us called back at about 10.15pm and was met with another member of staff, perhaps the owner, distinctly frosty service couldnt wait to lock up! We just had 2 pints for £8 and left.
