What a fantastic interior. This is a traditional old pub with lots of character.

There is a good selection of beers, wines and spirits.

The food was excellent. I can recommend, from the specials menu, the shoulder of Welsh Lamb. Delicious slow cooked. We all had it and it did not disappoint.

Absolutely wonderful! The staff were lovely and attentive, seeing that my girlfriend who has a lactose intolerance was catered for, also our dog had a bowl of water. The food was incredible, we both had the Black Lion Burger, a monster of a burger, we knew what was coming so hadn't much all day! The meat was cooked divinely and was about an inch thick! Would highly recommend, the rest of the menu looked inviting too

Visited for my partners 40th whilst on holiday nearby, and so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff were welcoming and attentive, including for our dog. The pub was the perfect mix of traditional, cosy and clean and the food was fantastic, a great range of options including vegetarian and vegan. I had the Thai chickpea and lentil mash up which was delicious, and was topped off by the chocolate dreamcake from Pwdin - it really was a dreamcake!
Highly recommend giving this place a visit, and we'll be returning when we're next in the area.

I visited 3 times so far after moving to the area. It is IMHO the best Sunday lunch I've not cooked myself. Other places as yet unvisited will have to be doing something special to beat it! A vegetarian friend I took once rated it too.

Fabulous meal, we stayed in the area and after an very average meal the evening before we checked reviews and searched out somewhere which had recent excellent reviews and we were thoroughly impressed, with all aspects the best meal we have had out for months, great service/hospitality and a warm welcome from

Four of us had a meal there on the 2nd September.Absolutely fabulous.Couldn't fault it.Lovely staff,awesome food and great beer.Definitely recommend and will be returning !!

Excellent Sunday lunch on 30th October 2022 - plentiful and superbly cooked. We booked for 1pm and the whole experience was exceptional. The service was first rate with everyone making us feel very welcome. Outstanding value for money we would highly recommend the Black Lion Inn Dewernlas.

Lovely little pub that serves great food. Not a huge menu but enough to satisfy. Service was excellent too.
Will be returning.
Have returned and still great food!!! Only thing is burger was served on a wooden board with chips in a little basket thing. Didn't ask to change it as didn't want to upset the waitress but will remember next time to ask for a plate when ordering.
