Liked: Stunning location, right by gentle flowing river. In woodlands very rustic feel. Site owners were a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make your stay the best. Pub literally 2 mins away. Lovely food and drink. Outdoor seating, lighting at night very nice.
Sun raising behind trees so no hard sunlight on tent in morning. Can hire firepits for your stay very reasonable prices as well.
Pub has toilet block that is open 24hrs for campers.
Very quiet camp site, no noise, separate pith areas marked with rope with a night light on Beautiful area.

Disliked: Nothing I can really think off other than the midges :) but bring some stray next time.
No Wi Fi or phone signal, but hardly an issue :)

Liked: Lovely site, owners were very nice and worked so hard. Lovely little pub but got busy with locals so we were glad weather was good so we could sit outside. Beer garden was lovely and our boys enjoyed swimming in the lake.

Disliked: The position of the lodge didn't give much privacy. Alot of passing traffic by people.

We paid for a log burner on booking but we were not able to use it unless we went near the lake. We didn't bring extra seating with booking the lodge so was unable to sit near the lake. This should be explained on booking as it was £10 extra.

No shower facilities and a very small sink to wash in but toilets were clean. Okay if you are only staying a couple of nights.

We went during the week so not much going on of an evening but did notice that weekends had more going on. Pizza night etc.

Everywhere just looked like it needed a little TLC but very lovely place.

Liked: A lovely location, perfect camping next to the river. So calm and relaxing.
Quiet and chilled, children able to play freely.
We loved going over the Ford to get to the camping pitch, made it more exciting.
The facilities are clean and accessible.
Owners are lovely and really helpful. Everything was made easy for a nice experience overall.
My son was so excited finding fairies and their fairy houses during a night time trip the toilets.
Would recommend and will definitely visit again.
Struggled for signal but was nice to be tech free.

Disliked: As I'm not a very experienced camper I would have found it perfect if there was a shower facility. Personally I don't like not being able to shower.

Liked: Such a friendly and unique place - gorgeous setting alongside the river, perfectly sized pitches and decent facilities. Pub was warm and welcoming and a good range of options on the menu, including meat-free meals and snacks. Dog friendly and quiet - everyone here seemed to respect the place :)

Disliked: The ford was a little hairy! Though, to be fair, it is entirely up to campers as to whether they want to risk crossing it or not. There is ample parking the other side of the river if you'd prefer to leave your car there and walk your things over.

Liked: Beautiful location right next to the river! The river was accessible and viewable from the pitch. Ground was well kept with clearly marked pitches. Site staff were really friendly and accommodating. We asked for the specific pitch and they were happy to oblige.

Disliked: Limited facilities but this is clearly advertised on the advert. We stayed for one night so no real problems there. Would certainly not put us off staying again as they were clean!

The postcode on the advert takes you slightly further up the road- something to be aware of if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Liked: Wow! What a stunning location! Hillside and Riverside setting in the grounds of a small rural Pub, accessed via a river Ford! Basic facilities, but great food and drink available from the pub. All pitches are Riverside. Family run, friendly staff. Will definitely be revisiting many times more. Love it!

Disliked: We didn't stay longer :)

Liked: The bell tent was lovely and clean. I wasn’t expecting it to be so spacious inside! We have 2 young children and a teenager, none of them got bored! They loved the water right outside the tent! Everything was so peaceful. Lovely walks around the area. We didn’t eat in the pub however got some drinks and the owners are lovely! Always made sure we were okay and whether we needed anything. Toilets were extremely clean!

Disliked: Not a dislike however showers would be good. Somewhere to freshen up.

Liked: The friendliest and most helpful hosts we've met in a long time. This is a basic site but all the more fun for that. The pub is small and cosy and we were made to feel welcome by the staff and the regulars. The burgers were excellent and value for money. The camping is basically a flat grass plot at the side of the river but it's very pretty, clean and rustic. The only toilets are in the pub which is a few hundred yards away from the camping but these are available 24 hours and were clean. There are no other amenities. You are allowed to have a fire pit, pup tent etc and there appear to be no written rules other than the normal rules of courtesy. If you like basic camping this is lovely. You do have to drive through a ford to get to the camping so be warned.

Disliked: Nothing
