Great daytime place to chill and play Snooker. New owners refurbishing it while open - thats a good call. Friendly staff. Advertises great evening events too. Additional room for hire / sports screen. Long stairs up, so no wheelchairs.

While visiting family for the holidays, I was pleasantly surprised to find Stubbington had a gym. The equipment is new and top-of-the-line; the staff are friendly; and the owner, Martin, gave me an affordable day-use rate. I wish this gym-pub hybrid was out here in Colorado because I'd happily become a member.

New ownership by a young family man & his wife who have really turned around this former dark & dismal place. Plenty of large Sports TV screens. Decent drinks selection and getting better. At time of writing, (Sept' '18) plans are in place to introduce hot food options in the future. Decoration is also a work in progress so be prepared for that. There is also an emphasis on families which is great but hopefully will be carefully monitored to avoid screaming/excited children running around which I have to see any evidence of. Half of the club is already given over to fitness classes such as martial arts etc, all of which is separate to the Main bar. The regulars are friendly (myself included!) and happy to sit and chat with strangers about Sport, weather, etc over a pint. There are plans to close the snooker room in favour of a Gym. Neither being of interest to me but may be important to you. Overall an excellent local social club with great potential being realized by the new owner.
