Oh where to start. My wife gifted me a 3 month membership to The London Gym, for my 50th Birthday.

I have never really warmed to the idea of a Personal Trainer, based on what I have seen at gyms and the like over the years. But The London Gym really is different. Believe me, if they can can get me to like training (well, most of the time), then they have a special talent a unique approach to wellbeing.

Nick my trainer is fun. Demanding. Professional and endlessly flexible (for a few years I had a demanding travel schedule, which took me all over the place at short notice and messed up arrangements).

Nick is very in tune with how you are feeling, both physically and mentally, and always finds a way to tailor the session perfectly to suit. You always come away feeling better, no matter if you were really not looking forward to it in the first place.

And I love the variation in the sessions. Nick knows all about running, weights, yoga and pilates (and I am sure others I have forgotten).

Cannot speak highly enough. To turn training into fun takes a rare skill and The London Gym has that skill set.

I’ve always had excellent experiences training with Nick. He balances his sessions between pushing you to do better but allowing you to briefly rest between exercises, thereby ensuring you develop your muscles effectively. Nick can also be flexible with his sessions if need be and I’ve been able to train with him in multiple locations.
If you’re looking for a reliable and effective trainer, I’d highly recommend Nick.

In August 2019 I was two stones overweight, very unfit and unhappy about my appearance. I contacted The London Gym and had an initial consultation where I explained my objectives - to lose weight and to get generally fitter. They explained how they could help though a combination of training and nutritional advice and I felt very confident in signing up with them.

I had an initial assessment with Nick in which he identified my weakest muscle groups (hamstrings and glutes among others) and he drew up a training plan for remedial exercises initially, progressing into strength training. We also discussed nutrition and Heather gave me a daily calorie target and guidance on the right balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat. She also emphasized the importance of water intake.

The London Gym also puts a lot of useful information online, including detailed nutrition and meal plans for those who would like to have them.

I trained with Nick for two sessions per week at first, and the going was tough initially. I was not used to exercise and struggled in the first couple of sessions, although I realized that once I was though this initial hurdle things would improve. Subsequent sessions went much better with my strength and fitness rapidly improving.

Although I did not want a rigid nutrition plan, I did start to use an app to record my daily food intake, which calculates the number of calories consumed as well as the balance between the three food groups. I recorded this information online so that The London Gym could assess my nutrition as well as my progress in strength training and make appropriate recommendations. Needless to say, cutting down on wine and other high-calorie items had some obvious benefits.

By October I had lost most of the two stones and felt immeasurably fitter and stronger than when I started. The body fat measurements and before and after photographs also told their own story with a huge amount of excess fat having disappeared from my belly, face and neck in particular.

I moved down to one session a week with Nick and stopped recording all of my food intake, although I have a much better idea now of how many calories I am consuming and how my balance of food groups is shaping up each day.

Under The London Gyms guidance I have now reached my target of two stones weight loss and a great improvement in my general strength and fitness. I will definitely be continuing with them and would not hesitate to recommend them. They are incredibly professional and knowledgeable about both training and nutrition, but has a very relaxed manner which makes training with them both rewarding and fun.

Attention to detail is simply amazing a true customer experience second to none.

I’ve been training with The London Gym for just 5 weeks but can honestly say that it’s a game changer.
There is nowhere to hide, no excuses to cover up your bad days - when you are in, you are all in! The expertise of the trainers (Nick and Maria ) who never cease to ensure you make every rep count are so supportive whatever your goal is.
They make you accountable for your own journey which makes every piece of progress worthwhile.
The London Gym makes you feel part of something special a close net community of like minded people, i am a partner in a Law Fitrm which is very demanding and need strucute and most importnatly a company i can trust i have found it at The London Gym,

I have been training with Nick for nearly 6 months. Sessions are professional, fun and always different. Nick is very reliable and always shows up with a great attitude! Keeps me focused and knows exactly how far to push me. Great motivator! Zoom training is working out quite well at the moment and I’m happy to continue until In person workouts resume.
