I asked for this before the pandemic, gave the contractual month notice, but for personal reasons ended up freezing the account. They actually froze all accounts during lock down.
The issue started when they were due to 'reactivate' payments. I also had to renew my bank details so they got in touch about that, providing a phone number where to update those. I had no intention of going back to the gym, so asked them to terminate the contract instead. Their answer was that my membership had been reactivated again, so to cancel I'd have to fill in another cancellation form and give another month notice (meant paying another month too).
I tried to reach out the managers but they didn't show any empathy and kept repeating the same instructions. I tried to email other Snap Fitness addresses and nobody ever replied. By the time I decided to update my bank details, nobody picked up the phone so ended up using a platform to pay the monthly bill plus a fee.
I just don't understand a service where customers seem to be ignored, where your inbox is filled with propaganda instead of receiving information about what matters, specially since there's no intranet. I highly recommend Pure gym instead, where cancelling is as easy as cancelling your direct debit.
It’s a great place for people who are just starting to train and may feel nervous, no egos here just people wanting to be active. People of all sizes and fitness levels attend the gym so don’t be afraid to come in.
I have been having personal training sessions with Brad Hicks. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and to create a programme to achieve those goals. He helps to push me that little extra to get the most of each session. It’s well worth it. The techniques he teaches ensure I am able to train safely and minimise any risks of hurting myself by performing heavy lifts incorrectly.
I would highly recommend training with Brad if you are looking to lose weight, look good or just improve you overall fitness levels. Do it. You won’t regret it.
I’ve been having PT sessions with James Kelly (one of the PTs down there) for almost 12 weeks. I wish I had met him years ago as my fitness has improved more in 12 weeks with James than in many years of training on my own. I’ve seen weight loss and muscle growth that I’ve never been able to achieve on my own. Would throughly recommend him to anyone looking to see results. Go check him out on his Instagram @james.kellypt
