The club itself is fantastic, great facilities. The Spa is great. However, there are several issue hence the 2 star rating.

- It typically takes a while get things fixed. The water fountain tap has been broken for over a month now.

- Parking has improved but still takes a while to find a parking spot when it’s busy. I would say the parking attendant is very helpful and polite.

- The club decided no guests are allowed, yet they sent “guest passes” on the app which is part of the membership perks. Apparently they notified customers in an email, and the information around guests was at the bottom of the body of the email. Doesn’t it make more sense to send a notification on the app? Text?

- You can’t discuss the membership at reception, instead a call is scheduled (generally in a few days)

The 2 star rating is reflective of the cost of membership. The service is generally okay, but I expect more from a high end health club.

Facilities are great and classes have been very good. However, customer service is appalling. And don’t bother leaving feedback, taking to the staff or writing emails.
A few examples of issues you will find :
- Rules do not apply to everyone. The rule of wearing flip flops to the spa is overlooked when you see a member that has a connection with the staff. Same for the use of computers.
- Classes and trainers are great, however on my first class one member had text the trainer that she was late due to traffic (as we all were) when I got there, she had saved equipment for the said member and I didn’t have equipment. Having booked and showed up before her. Had to use something improvised. Again, if you are not friends with the staff…
- had a big issue with food order, brought attention to the staff, that was apologetic after discussing with me that I ordered it wrong (which I didn’t and had to prove) - was told they would give me credit for a meal and … obviously, never happened.
- One of the hottest days we spent at the club and they were limiting people in the pool area. Unless you know the staff. Then you were allowed in. I took my son to the toilet, came back, hair wet, but was not allowed in since “he hasn’t seen me leave”. Minutes later allowed an entire family in. That had just arrived.
- I did send several emails regarding my membership. Made phone calls, never answered or replied.
So, unfortunately, for a club that states they are “high end” - I can’t give more than 2 stars.

My favourite gym out of all the David Lloyds I've been to.
Can get very busy between 17.00 and 19.00 most days but has the best facilities.
The spa is second to none but you have to own a Platinum or diamond membership to gain access.

A very corporate feel, which was good in a way- but meant it was less homely and less of a family feel. (Depending on what you prefer) There were lots more facilities than my usual David Lloyds. I enjoyed the experience- especially the steam rooms and sauna. I will be visiting again soon.

This is hands down my favourite a David Lloyd. The facilities are well maintained, with the indoor pool and changing rooms having a complete overhaul, and it's Spa is unrivaled in my opinion. From the meditation hammock pods to the exceptional sauna and steam facilities, I always feel truly pampered when I leave.

Just plain rude. No one responds. No one will talk to you. Ironically, they are super fast at responding to any public review such as this (someone will write and claim concern- don't believe it!). I asked to speak to anyone in management at least 10 times (phone calls and in person) and could never get a foot in. It is amazing how many meetings they are in which prevent them from talking to customers! When I finally escalated my complaint it was also shocking how cold and uncaring the head-office team and area management team were. The final responses made me feel like my membership was not needed. They probably want to get rid of older members on lower priced memberships so they can replace with higher membership fees. Such a shame as the customer service to sign you up is great but once your in they do not care. Very upsetting to receive the e-mails I received from the team at a high level. Unprofessional and rude.

The David Lloyd Northwood club used to be very good, I was a customer advocate for the club and I was able to bring many of my friends and family to be members as well.

In the last months they went down hill in all aspects, kids swimming pool is very cold, my kids got sick for the temperature of the water, when you try to talk to them by e-mail or phone they will take days, weeks and months to respond.

If you try to negotiate a different membership options they give you no option, the membership team does not care about you.

I had many close friends cancelling in the last months because of the treatment to existing members and the quality in general of the club going down.

I hope they can fix things and maybe I could think to come back, for now I am waiting my 3 months cancellation notice period and I will stop coming to David Lloyd Northwood.

I hope they train their membership team to listen to the customer and treat existing and long term members better.

The only email they responded to was when I requested to leave. My membership has now been cancelled which is a shame for a great place. However I do
