St John the Evangelist Church

One of my favourite gig venues in Oxford. I've seen Stornoway and Laura Cantrell here. It's good to arrive early so you can get seats at the front. I wouldn't want to be any further back than the first three or four rows. The acoustics are great. The sound engineers must know what they're doing because churches can be tricky buildings for live music.

Lovely converted church venue. Excellent accoustics. Just make sure not to sit behind a pillar.

Great (warm) acoustic venue for classical concerts - and an interesting programme

Went for an orchestral performance. Great venue, very comfortable seats. At bar they only accepted cash but entrance had cash back so all good.

Stunning space for prayer, contemplation and wonderful orchestral services too.

Nicely decorated church used for SJE musical events. Sight lines a bit problematic in the cheap seats. Parking difficult but that’s not the venue’s fault.

Lovely staff. Good seating. Great accoustics. Top notch concert. Tricky to find first time but well worth the search.
