We regularly attend St John's, we got married and held our daughter's christening here too. The church is really well run and immaculate. Worth a visit.

The church was dated as : 1892 it was built to add a new church to Colston Bassett after Saint Mary's church on New road was abandoned during the Plague. The original village was close to Saint Mary's at the time of Plague , it was decided to move the original village about a mile away from Saint Mary's. Stone and roofing materials ,were removed to provide materials for the .John the Devine church , a story goes that local residents , were very angry that Saint Mary's church was butchered for materials , they refused to use 'Saint Johns ' .
