I had been using the Manufacturer to do repairs to my cooking range but it was costing me a fortune, so a friend recommended Domestic Appliance Services. They called out the same day & amazingly had the proper replacement part on the van & quoted me £45 less than i had paid the manufacturer last time. They are a very professional outfit & i think their charges are very reasonable for such a quick service. Needless to say i will be using them in future.

Domestic Appliance Services were very good in my opinion, when I realised that the repair to my old washing machine was as going to be too costly by they said that they could supply co and fit in as new machine be and dispose of my old one. The engineers removed the old appliance and fitted the new in under forty five minutes, excellent, well satisfied.

My experience of this company is one of constantly waiting on them and would not recommend them.
Tuesday - I called them with an oven issue and they arranged for an engineer call to diagnose the oven. £34 was the call out fee to diagnose a fault. Engineer arrived on Tuesday, he was a nice guy, pleasant and professional and he identified the issue said, he said he would hand paperwork into the office to order the part. I was to call the next morning after 11am for an update.
Wednesday - after 11, left a message on the answerphone. Received a call back before 1pm, part is on order, they'll call and let me know when they'll come and do the repair.
Thursday - No contact
Friday - AM, no contact. Called for an update as I didn't want to be sat at home all day waiting. Lady in office says when the part comes in they'll call. At nearly 4pm I got a call, part is in, they'll be out on Monday between 9am - 1pm to fit the part.
Monday - 9am - 1pm comes and goes. No communication. At around 1.45pm the engineer arrives. The new part is not the fault, fault has been misdiagnosed. Was told by the engineer that the office would call me with an update.
Tuesday - Got a call around lunch time informing me that the oven needed additional parts and these would cost as much as the oven but they had ovens in stock if I wanted to pay £350 for a new one. I asked for a partial refund for the original diagnosis as it was a wrong diagnosis and I had to wait in waiting for phone calls.
The lady in the office said she would get someone to call me on Wednesday to discuss.
Wednesday - No phone call (Who knew that would happen!)

I understand diagnosis can be trial and error in some instances but no testing equipment was used on the oven to check for faults.
We managed to get an alternative repairer the following day that diagnosed the fault and fixed it the same day.

Positives with this company, Engineer was a nice courteous gentleman.
Negatives - Poor diagnostics, terrible communication from the office on updates and notifications on being late. These simple things go a long way to customers, rather than waiting in on phone calls an easier text message system could be easily set up like their competitors use.

Maybe I was just unlucky with my experience but wouldn't recommend to friends or family.

The fan on my oven wasn't working. They were able to arrange a visit within a couple of days. The contractor was very professional and efficient: simply disassembled and reassembled the necessary parts and it worked fine, so no extra costs or replaced items. Job done very quickly. I haven't used them before but I highly recommend this company and will contact them about other appliances in the future.

Quick efficient service installing a washing machine they provided. Would recommend this local business.
Even more impressed by this company, The washing machine installed was faulty, they replaced it, no mention of contacting manufacturers like some of the big stores. Then when I thought new machine was leaking ( it wasn't ) they came out next day to check. First class service!

Repaired my hoover after I killed it with plaster dust. It's more powerful than ever, hoover on steroids! They were very easy to deal with. Not cheap but you get what you pay for I believe. Very happy. Thanks soo much.

Tried to get 'Hoover' spares for my hoover - but they do not supply to members of the public ! As an engi eer, I wanted to fit new spares to my vacuum cleaner, so now as 'Hoover' don't want to supply to me directly, I am forced to go through a 3rd party.
I would like to send the item back to 'Hoover' for repair, but they don't want to know. Made in China, the machine has a short life expectancy
2-3 years, then binned!
Please advise. Graham.

Contacted these guys a few months ago after we had moved into our house to look at the oven which wasn't coming up to temperature. A guy came out, demanded payment before he had stepped through the door and rather than diagnosing the problem he spent less than 10 minutes, decided we didn't need to use that setting and scribbled a mark on the settings knob to show us which one he thought we should use. I then spent the next month going back and forward with the office trying to diagnose the issue. The manager actually told he the engineer had done us a favour as we didn't know how to use the oven. After this they had the gaul to quote full price knowing full well my issue with the engineer having not doing the job we had paid for. I eventually got a refund for the call out but they have since decided to ignore all communication. Clearly doing a proper job is not worth their while.
