There is no remnant of the villa here except the board. But, the river side walk is beautiful.

The land upon which the villa stood was used for gravel extraction from the 1950s to the 1970s. In the early 1990s the land was used for landfill and then "returned to its original state", which had been rough pasture land. This removed all traces of the villa. The area around the lakes and across the fields to the west is crisscrossed by decent footpaths with the main ones (from Hyde Lane to School Lane and Hyde Lane to How Wood) being suitable for disabled access. The lakes, also a result of gravel extraction, are mainly for the use of anglers but all the footpaths are well worth walking - none are strenuous.
