Need to get something framed in a hurry as I did. They did a top job in less than 48hrs and at a very fair price.

I provided a creative workshop there recently. It has a lovely space to work in. They have an area to have a cuppa and a bite to eat and a lovely shop for gifts and art materials

Always an interesting place to visit. At the moment this years entries into the bag painting competition are on display. The art studio is quite popular with different classes available. There is a cafe as well with the art shop on the ground floor. The only drawback is the access to the first floor. There is just a very steep flight of stairs which is no good for people with mobility issues.

I asked about lessons for this term and started the next day as places were available on course. Unfortunately after two lessons due to family illness and my being needed as a caregiver I was unable to continue with the course. Having paid up front for ten lessons I asked if I might receive a partial refund and this was refused despite my compassionate reasons for cancellation. I didn’t expect a refund for the whole £125 of the cancellation just a token as I’m a pensioner so it was quite a luxury for me to spend that sort of money on myself. So very expensive for two lessons. I would have understood the refusal if I had taken a place someone else wanted but this wasn’t the case. There were still vacancies when i started. With regards to the course I was told before I started that it was suitable for a complete beginner. This wasn’t the case and everyone else had a lot more experience and I was thrown in at the deep end with no tuition suitable for my lack of experience, although the tutor was very nice I didn’t feel that this course is suitable for beginners and we just followed what she put down in sections, a bit like painting by numbers to me with no information about the fundamentals of using acrylic paints. But to be fair that might have been taught as the lessons progressed and the tutor was very willing to help if asked. But as everyone else was following easily the class moved on very quickly and I couldn’t keep up with the speed of painting and didn’t want to keep interrupting the flow for the rest of the students. Not a good experience for me I’m afraid.

The perfect place for an art lover. The first floor contains a gallery; a cafe, which serves delicious cakes and sandwiches; and a studio, where are expert and fun tuition can be had in a wide range of art media. An art shop is located downstairs, containing a huge range of art materials, and offering framing services.
