Kettles Yard is a really different gallery. Based on the house and collection of the old owner, it is preserved much as he left it. You will be escorted round the building by very knowledgeable staff who are passionate about the collection. The main permanent display is predominantly early to mid 20th century items including sculpture, paintings and found objects. This is not just a collection of objects, it is an aesthetic whole. The building the furniture and the art all joined into one fascinating experience. There is a new section which hosts exhibitions.
The cafe serves excellent coffee and cake with a limited range of food for lunch at reasonable prices.

Great place to visit - I would say more than once. I visited the house - online tickets are free and easy to book - which allows small guided tours. our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and interesting. I understand there are concerts here too which are quite popular.

Kettle’s Yard is an incredible gem! Definitely the house tour is a must. Originally went to see the Ai Wei Wei exhibition and finished with a tour of the house. It was the highlight of my visit to Cambridge. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly as well.

Each time I visit Cambridge I make time to visit Kettles Yard; this space is entirely unique, a thoughtful & domestic home which hosts artworks by international artists. The tour guides are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions around the works, history and story. Kettles Yard will provide endless inspiration for your own home & the church next door is not to be missed either.

Probably the most wonderful house museum I have ever visited. It’s definitely a hidden gem and you must book ahead, but for modern art lovers this alone is worth a trip to Cambridge. At the moment they do timed guided tours, which goes by very quickly. From what I understand they used to do self guided visits. I loved learning from the guide but I wish I had enough time to slowly photograph and absorb all the beautiful details.

It's a guided tour at a house full of art. The old house is very humble, but the extensions are classic and very beautiful 😍. I really liked it! The only problem is that it's only a guided tour, and you can't just walk it through by yourself.
I visited in November 2022, and there was a wonderful exhibition other than the house; Paint Like the Swallow Sings Calypso.

I absolutely love this little gem of a place. The booking system was straight forward. Entry is free but you need to book in advance. The guide was very knowledgeable. We never felt rushed even though there is a time limit.
The artwork and displays are beautiful. Lots of photo opportunities.
It was my 2nd visit and I will definitely be returning.

What a way to contemplate art. I experienced the house as an interactive gallery because you can sit on the chairs to gain a unique perspective of the house and all the delights in it, including paintings, sculptures and other small details. Worth the visit if you're in cambs!
