Had my bike pedals changed twice in 6 months due to faulty bearings. Fitted expensive durable metal ones free of charge. No hassle, quick, good service. Glad I'd bought the bike from them!

Very good store. Friendly helpful staff who are very knowledgeable about the products being sold. Many products available from camping essentials, car assesories to biking accessories, car radios, mechanic tools, car parts, push bikes.... the list goes on. Rather big store so most products are stocked 24/7. This store also has a fitting team available most days. Quick service checkout area never too busy.

If you're going here, go for the bike section: staff have been consistently knowledgeable and have given me good advice on repairs, including when I *don't* need to shell out for the more expensive options on offer. I have had two or three bikes go through their hands with no issues, and they have always been swift to assist. I can't comment on the general cars/etc staff as I've only interacted with the bike section.

Rarely have we written a negative review and tend to see the best in people and places. The first visit to this cycle store was assisted by a most helpful young chap who was genuinely interested in helping customers make decisions. We were convinced that the Halfords 48-hour free electric bike hire was worth having before shelling out £1000 - £1500.

We phoned ahead of the visit and were told there would be no problem as all the bikes were in and available. On arrival at the counter today, we were clearly invisible, and, as remarked here by other reviewers, were completely ignored along with others also waiting at the counter. A simple "I'll be with you shortly" would have been a good start.

We went away for shopping and coffee and returned to be greeted by another unmotivated and disinterested staffer who managed to put every obstacle in the way with the last one being that we couldn't take a bike as they weren't charged. It had been a two hour trip to the nearest store selected for the bike hire and the-four figured sum they would undoubtedly have received after the 48-hour hire, will now go somewhere else.

There must be more than one helpful staffer there but this was an appalling shopping experience and a complete waste of time and fuel.

Exceptional Customer Service
This Halfords store is exceptional - not only do they do great bikes, but the service - the attention to the customer - is unparalleled.
The greeting when entering the store was warm & friendly.
In the Bike Hut - the staff are attentive & knowledgeable.
Retail is still alive if the customer experience is this good.

Your store staff provided brilliant customer service when I popped in, needing to have a replacement headlight bulb fitted for my car.

They had the item in stock and it was fitted by one of your representatives within 5 minutes of me making my purchase.

He was knowledgeable, friendly and a real credit to Halfords! Thanks so much for providing me with a memorable visit and world class customer service!

They didn't listen to what I asked for. I wanted the bike checked and I wanted new brakes put in and a new back wheel. All they did was checked the bike over and straightened the wheel. That's not what I asked for and it took them from Wednesday morning till Monday to do a 30 minute job. Not a happy customer!

Went in to get various bits. Bike lock shelves half empty, no affordable locks left. Needed an inner tube for my bike, couldn't see what I needed on the shelf, asked the staff member, stated the size I needed, he pointed at one that was the nearest to it and claimed it would work, as they didn't have exactly what I needed. Turns out it doesn't work at all because it's completely the wrong size. Can't return it because Halford refuses to give customers a receipt unless you give them your email address so they can spam you forever. I'm not normally a fan of Amazon but whether I support a tycoon in California or someone who presumably has his money in the Cayman islands just like every big CEO in the UK, makes no difference because neither pays tax here. Why do I bother to make an effort to shop locally when the service is so inadequate and I can get stuff delivered the next day without even leaving my house. Sadly I moved too far away from a lovely small private bike shop I used to support a lot.
