Terrible service i ordered 2 thule parts i was told they would be instore to pick up on wednesday i phoned on wednesday and was told they would be instore after midday so i went down on thursday to check and was told that my order had been cancelled?? No body could tell me why customer service kept me on the phone for 15 minutes. Could have taken my number and phoned me back but to stupid and ignorant to think of that. My advice get what you need elsewhere ive used halfords for nearly 50 years but will never go there again the one manager at the cardiff branch was apologetic but everyone else i delt with was just gormless.

We went to Halfords on Newport Road on Sunday to look at car seats for our toddler. We didn't end up buying one but when we went to leave our car wouldn't start, we suspected there was an issue with the battery. We went back into the store and asked whether they could help in any way. A really helpful member of staff (I think his name was Dan but I was a bit stressed and not sure if this correct!) came out and checked out battery charge for us. This was showing as critically low and needing to be changed. He then jumpstarted our car, enabling us to see whether the battery would hold a charge and more importantly get home. We asked what we owed him and he said nothing. It was so fortunate that this happened in front of Halfords - we had our little boy with us and what could have been a really stressful situation was made so much easier by this really helpful member of staff. Thank you!!!

As a business Halfords has been around a very long time and can pretty much be considered as one of the most well known businesses in the UK and a family favourite for car care products and bicycles.
But every now and then you get one member of staff to throw Halfords’ reputation for good customer service in the trash.
Luke, working in the Newport Road store this morning was asked by a customer why it took so long to be served and that he had been waiting since 10am. Like could have simply said…. “I’m sorry sir, unfortunately we a little busier than normal and we have had a member of staff call off this morning. We appreciate your feedback”….. Luke’s reply was “ Everyone else has been waiting as well. What you want me to do about it?”
Such a shame to have one member of staff make a customer feel under values in this way.
I hope the management can put Luke through some retraining.

Some team members here, treat customers like we're children compared to them and their knowledge of cars.

Specially when they do their vehicle safety checks and question you on parts and accessories purchased elsewhere.

Easy and painless to order and collect but not quite sure why 4 packs of Hot Hands Hand Warmers at a reduced price were £3.20 each…. But when I thought well while I’m here physically might as well buy another two, was charged £4 a pack? Queried but got nowhere.

Dom helped us with changing wheelchair basketball tires even though the store was closing as we needed them next day. He is the most helpful, kind person :)

Needed help with fitting new number plates on my car. Not an easy job as the plates were fixed into frames that I couldn't unlock. Tim used his expertise and tool kit to sort the problem in a few minutes. Exemplary customer service on a busy Saturday.

The actual service and MOT on my car were done well (as far as I'm aware), but I was very disappointed to find that they handed over my keys to me without any sort of identity check, and they'd broken my dashcam's windscreen mount. I reached out to the company in general about this and they said they'd look into it but never got back to me.
Recommended locations
