I’ve heard lots of bad reviews about Erewash Motors. Sadly, after they broke one of my glow plugs. I took my car to them to replace the battery and had no problem. Then I noticed my stop/start didn’t work so had it put on diagnostics (at two garages) and a glow plug fault came up. Because they’d fitted my new car battery and are close to my workplace, I booked my glow plugs in with them too.

When they’d ‘finished’ fitting my new glow plugs, they called me to say they “could only fit three as it looked like someone had already had a go and it was spinning.” I didn’t understand what they meant and, after asking lots of questions and getting two other garages to look at it for a 2nd opinion (one being the Mini dealership), it’s been confirmed that my 2nd glow plug is broken and needs extracting.

I wish I’d never taken my car there as now I’m left with only 3 working glow plugs (which could be an issue in winter) and an expensive repair job.

When I visited them to complain, they kept saying it was like that when they found it. As my car has only done 54k miles, I doubt it! I asked to see the glow plugs they’d taken out to see if they were original Mini glow plugs and they told me they no longer had them! Coupled with the previous fact that my Cooper Diesel has only done 54k miles, I suspect they forced it and it broke.

I wish they’d called me when they had trouble removing it and left it as opposed to breaking it. They didn’t and they denied it.

Although they reluctantly refunded me for the labour (I said that’s the least they could do and said I’d contact Trading Standards otherwise as I wasn’t prepared to pay for someone to damage my car), I’m left with a repair bill of £100s, no apology and I’ve had to find out the exact issue myself as they weren’t even honest enough to admit it was broken and kept saying it was ‘spinning’.

We had an MOT due and wanted the car to be serviced also. Booking online was easy, the price was reasonable and it was made clear to us what was/wasn't included.

On the day, the car was ready when they said it would be, communication was great and we have no concerns about the quality of workmanship.

Never had a bad experience here. When I’ve needed them at short notice for tyres and springs etc they have always fitted me in. Nice guys too 😊

I’m newish to the area and needed a local new garage to use. I did some research and found Erewash garage. Honestly can’t fault them 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Used the convenient online booking service late at night due to an engine failure and warning light coming on. I own basic diagnostic equipment so was able to describe the problem a fuel injector had failed and needed replacing. On a 2016 car. I received a prompt call back first thing the next morning to discuss the booking and the issue and was reassured they would do their own diagnostic to avoid doing unnecessary expensive work. I was rough quoted over the phone before taking the car in and was happy with the price estimate. Very fair pricing on labour and diagnostic. Great communication through the whole process was rang up of their main landline registered number so I knew who was calling ,several times why they had my car, to be assured what was happening and estimate when it would be ready. Never had that of a garage before usually just ring of random mobile numbers as say “ah a couple of days maybe tomorrow” very impressed. Friendly guys in garage reception were knowledgeable and able to discuss the cause of the problem after collecting and paying to avoid it happening again. Site is very large with secure gated parking so you know your car is safe overnight. not like usual private garages. Also located on a main bus route so easy to get back home without a car. Highly recommend am happily back on the road and will be using again. Thanks Erewash garage. 👍🏻

The guys at erewash have always been really good to me. Cheapest place I know for tyres and Got me in the same day a few months back for my mot and got me straight back on the road. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good price
