We called on Saturday at very short notice, we had an issue with a leak from our van. Lovely chap answered the phone and said yes, pop down I’ll have a look.
When we arrived he couldn’t have been more helpful and polite. Our problem was sorted within a few minutes and we were on our way.

We were visiting Presteigne on holiday and heard some odd suspension noises. As I was worried in case of safety, I gave Luke at Woodside a call after finding them on Google and he was very helpful agreeing to take a look that day.

Popped in and was immediately reassured by a tidy workshop. Luke got the car up on the lift and used shaker plates to check everything out. He identified the problem very quickly as two broken front springs (thanks to Herefordshire Council’s woeful road maintenance!)

Our problem was that this was Wednesday and we were due to be travelling 150+ miles home on Friday morning. Although he was busy with work, he said he’d fit it in somehow. I dropped the car off the next morning and they saved me a long walk by dropping me back to our holiday cottage. I was impressed to learn that they get parts deliveries several times a day so getting some springs and top mounts in for that day had not been a problem.

Caroline called me earlier than they’d predicted to say the car was ready and collected me. Luke had managed the job without needing the top mounts, saving a few bob. Labour was as quoted. The overall bill was more than reasonable.

I have owned and maintained cars and bikes carefully (I’m a mechanical engineer by background) for 30+ years and use main dealers and specialists (including for a higher performance car). Many have been very good, but this was overall the best garage experience I’ve ever had. I don’t mean fancy waiting areas and espresso machines, but genuine out of the way helpfulness, ability and dealing with nice people. If you’re anywhere remotely near Woodside, I encourage you to give them a try.
