Passed the info on to Evans Halshaw, they asked if they could have the car for another 4 days to check it. I refused and said I wanted to be there when they check the battery to see what they were doing, they accepted this.
Turned up and they refused to let me in workshop!!! Waited 2hrs and they came and said no problem with the battery, even though they got 12.2v reading on a 12.6v battery!!
In the end I said I wasn’t leaving until they replaced the battery which they did, total time 4 hours.
This has left me some £80 out of pocket, paying to have dash cam needlessly disconnected, taxi fares and four 15 mile round trips.
After they replaced the battery I then struggled to get a receipt and was convinced they had put an old battery on as the date stamp on it put it at 10 months old, if it was new this is almost 1/3 of my guarantee in shelf life. I did eventually get an invoice, so I have to accept it was new.
Car has worked perfectly since the battery was replaced. Find it hard to believe the battery specialist took literally 2 mins to find the fault, but Evans Halshaw needed 4 visits, one of them 2 full days.
I expected more from Evans Halshaw and now feel I will have to go out of town to a different and hopefully more competent service centre.
I did not buy the car from this dealership but a Ford warranty is a Ford warranty
