Be warned that reception is manned (at least during my 2 recent visits) by one of the most obnoxious, arrogant individuals I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with. Apparently a director of the company, he has absolutely no idea how to communicate or deal with Customers in a civil manner and is utterly dismissive of any questions or concerns you may have – apparently I questioned the integrity of the garage when I sought clarification on a couple of valid points connected with the work carried out on my vehicle. The individual concerned should realise that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers and I received stupid (and inaccurate) answers to perfectly valid questions. Additionally, fobbing off Customers with inaccurate information is not a good idea as you will get found out eventually. I reserve judgement on the quality of the work carried out on my vehicle as it is too early to assess at the moment but I’m sure the mechanics are conscientious and capable.
If any co-directors of ‘Independent Car & Van Servicing Hedge End’ read this review, my suggestion would be to keep this particular individual as far away from your Customers as you can, he’s more suited to a back room role where his ‘talents’ might be better utilised.

Very accommodating when our car had to be towed to them out of hours and left for a diagnostic to find the issue. Resolved and delivered back to us at an extremely reasonable price. This is the second time we have used them as a VW specialist and the second time we have been thankful for their expertise. Highly recommended

Due to my normal garage being fully booked and being sceptical of going elsewhere, i came across this company and i was very impressed with all aspects of my experience here. From how quick they found out what the problem was to having it fixed and the total cost of repair ill definitely be doing my business here a lot more in the future. A very satisfied customer

Reception is the first place customers go, and as such you would think that the garage would take pride in an acceptable level of customer service. Unfortunately this is not the case.

I would give the overall experience 0 stars if I could. Currently unsure of the quality of work, hopefully better than than the customer service.

One member of staff on reception is totally condescending and seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Any questions asked received a blunt reply, and there is definitely not a smile with service.

I will not be returning, and would encourage others to try different garages in the area.

My neighbour put me on to them so glad he did they are excellent, Shall always use them from now onwards staff are so helpful and knowledgeable, very reasonable prices.

Excellent all round, easy to book, can be done online, great communication and a friendly service could not recommend then highly enough.

Again I turned to them for help with my VW - they offered everything they were capable of. Thanks again

If you live in the Southampton area, this is the garage to take your car to if you have a problem or just need servicing and advice. I have used this garage on various occasions and I can only say the service and care is of the upmost professionalism. The staff could not be more helpful and the depth of knowledge is far superior to any garage I have ever used. The on-the-stop diagnostic and problem solving is first class. Well and truly recommended for quality and care.
