I put my car in for an MOT one month ahead of time and it failed.
I booked the car in for a week later for a one day job, and was assured all parts were available and ready to go.
Two days later I was informed that I needed a part from Germany, which I knew was incorrect as Mercedes had told me the part I required. Subsequently I had to liaise with the mechanic to verify this.
Once the correct part was ordered and received, I was told that they were very busy and were unable to carry out the work in the immediate future. Two weeks later I picked up the car, and found the tailgate to be defective. Agreed that I would buy the part and garage would fit it for free, as the car was under their care when it became defective. 3 days later, I ordered the part myself and took it to the garage. Part was fitted and I was presented with a substantial bill for fitting it, including £10 plus vat for consumables on a tailgate latch.
Wouldn't recommend this garage.
This was excellent service which I really appreciated, and will continue to use the garage in future. I do live in Ulverston, but it is worth travelling a little to get good service from a friendly qualified team.
Was told I would be contacted the following Monday but no.
Contacted myself everyday for the next 10 days to be fobbed off with excuses.
Really disappointed as had been using this garage for approx 16yrs.
Contacted and informed them I was giving up on chasing them and how disappointed I was that they would treat long standing customers like this.
And they didn't even acknowledge my complaint.
So I would avoid unless you enjoy feeling like your custom doesn't matter...
