Great communication
Fast Work
Excellent service all round.
Would definitely use again.
I booked my car in for a full service. Upon collection I was giving a basic invoice that stated basic information such as the date and amount paid.
I was taken back as I was expecting to be spoken to about the service such as what was checked, what came up in the checks or at least given paperwork stating this. There was absolutely nothing.
I challenged this and after this being challenged a “mechanic” who stated he wasn’t the person who carried out the service (the guy who done my service apparently wasn’t there anymore) went into the office for approx 7 mins and came back with the most shoddiest paperwork I’ve seen.
He had ticked that absolutely everything was fine with the car apart from the fact the engine light was on. I knew immediately this was false as my tyre pressure light was showing my pressure at 1.8 so I knew the tyres were not all fine.
My seatbelt was jammed yet on the form the seatbelt was fine. After showing him this he fixes the seatbelt in front of me and then makes a remark along the lines of “I think your just trying to make things up” insinuating I jammed my own seatbelt. I then told him to forget about the seatbelt situation as I could see he was trying to use that to deflect the fact his company is shoddy.
My windscreen wipers weren’t functioning correctly (this was highlighted on my last full service and I haven’t changed the wipers since) yet according to this garage my wipers were fine.
My breaks are due to change as my last service said they were fine for now but they will need to be changed in a few thousand miles but according to this garage my breaks are fine. Even though my there’s a scraping sound when I break and the breaks are not as sharp as they used to be.
There was also NO measurements written such as break fluid level, tyre depth on this so called service report. According to the garage my car was fine. The only thing they mentioned was this my engine light was on which would be an additional £60 to do a diagnostic test.
I was hoping they would have told me what I needed e.g break fluid, air in my tyre, break pads etc.
According to this garage absolutely everything with my car was fine which clearly let me know they did not service my car and if they did it certainly wasn’t done properly.
After comparing the paperwork of my last service and showing the manager how they clearly have been shoddy and dishonest he agreed to refund me £50% of the price to which he did (technically he didn’t he refunded me £60 my service was £122.40)
Although (almost) half a refund is better than nothing I’m still not happy.
I’ve had to put air in my tyre myself (even though that’s something that’s included with a full service) and I’ve had to book another full service which has left me out of pocket.
The audacity and bad practice is why I’m refusing to take this on the chin and be content with the (almost) 50% refund. This garage needs investigating. To declare a car that has clear faults as fine is beyond dangerous. They’ve taken my money and not done what I paid for. I have reported them to trading standards and The Motor Ombudsman. They need to be held accountable.
