Priory Garage

This small local garage is always excellent! Recently had my aging car in for MOT and service.
Margaret in the office is very helpful and friendly. I was able to drop my car off (for MOT) early before the office opened as there is a safe key drop system on the gate. When I dropped it off for service I had my bike in the hatchback and needed help to lift it out - no problem, one of the mechanics helped. When I collected it after it had been serviced I noticed that the handbrake had been tightened - I wasn't charged for this which made my day!
Prices are competitive.

I own my own building company and was working for a friend in mattersy. I pass this place most days and my van needed a service, not knowing the history of the van I had just bought I figured it needed new brakes as the warning light was on.
I booked it in and expected the brakes to be replaced.
When I went to pay I was charged for the service and the brakes weren't necessary as the wear indicator wire had snapped so they repaired it.
I was astounded, most garages would have replaced parts and charged a fortune, brilliant service and very thorough.
I've just booked it in again for the mot and a few bits done to get it through.
I'd rather use a local independent rather than a dealer, with honesty like this I really don't want to take it anywhere else now.

Be careful you know what you are being charged for with this garage. I'm not knocking them. They do good work. But I was quoted £135 for work and was charged £298. When I questioned this I was told I had been sent a second revised quote which was more than the original quote.I never got any second revised quote. Obviously I had to pay the bill and was told even at £298 I got a good deal as they worked on the car for 5 hours. That may be true but I was quoted £135 and that's what I had budgeted for. Just double check you are sure what you will be charged. Its a shame because I know my car is in good hands but I can't go back after this

I have recently started using Priory Garage and I am really pleased with them, the service I received is first class, Karen the receptionist is very professional and understanding, I can’t praise her enough and I can say the same for Margaret who works in reception too.
I would not go anywhere else now, David the owner is a true enthusiast and enjoys what he does and takes into consideration that each vehicle is different and this appreciation shows through.

Priory garage have just sorted the clutch in my car. They always have cars on the ramps, which is a good sign. Way better than any glossy showroom in my opinion.

A proper garage who know how to repair faults rather than throw random parts to remedy a defect.

Highly recommend.
