Can't fault Bev and Karl for their service and persistence to get the job done. We had a Min seat that apparently couldn't be repaired by other 'specialists'. They clearly know their stuff. Would highly recommend and will use again. Thanks

Amazing! Would recommend these guys all day long.
They did a fantastic job of reupholstering full interior of a classic car. Great customer service and outstanding workmanship.

Karl quoted me a price to reform and re-cover a motorcycle seat and it would take about 2 weeks. After chasing them after 2 weeks, a month later he tells me he wants over 50% more than he quoted as it took him longer than expected! I will be collecting the seat later today and will pay him what he quoted as long as its decent quality!

I am very careful regarding who I recommend, however, I would recommend Stanley Trimmers without hesitation. Not only did they source a hood for my Lotus Elan M100 at very short notice, they fitted it in record time and to the highest standard. Few Elans are totally waterproof, but mine is.
Karl’s work is first class and in my opinion it is worth every penny (although undoubtedly cheaper substandard options are available elsewhere). I’ll stick with the quality option ✅

Contacted Stanley Trimmers after finding them online to replace the headlining on my Jaguar and realising they were local.

I received a text from them on 15/6/21 booking the car in for 3/7 (Saturday) and confirmed immediately. On 30/6 I text to confirm the booking and the location of the business and received no response, so waited and sent another, still no reply.

I continued to hear nothing from them in any way, no calls (missed or otherwise), no texts, absolutely nothing!

On 5/7 (2 days after the work was supposed to be done) I received a text stating that my messages had been missed. I'm not sure how, but a new date was set for 24/7, at which point I asked if anything changed this time, could they please let me know.

On 21/7 I received a text to say Karl was now not going to be in work on 24th as arranged but could I drop the car up earlier, which I confirmed would be fine.

With the car delivered, I left, only to be text the following day to be told there was now an issue with the material and could I come back in.

By now I was beginning to think the business was run very poorly, however, with the car already there I went in immediately as requested and arranged for 9.30am, only to be texted at 9.15am that morning to be told they would be late, and to find work had already started and the original headlining was already stripped. I was informed by Karl that there would be a very minor difference in the shade of the new material (which in all honesty I couldn't even notice), or I could wait until the middle of the following week and the correct colour could be bought and used.

As we were going away the following week, we agreed the car could be left until the work was completed.

Finally, with the work completed I received a text to say the car could be collected on 28/7/21 at 11am.

Upon arrival, albeit approximately 10 minutes early due to my lift needing to be elsewhere, I found the car being hoovered. I said I knew I was a little early, so not to rush, and went and sat in the car park as I had to reply to some emails.

Within 5 minutes I was told it was done and walked over. I was then asked how much they had told me it would cost, to which I confirmed it was £350, which I paid in cash.

I was then asked if I wanted a receipt, which I confirmed I did, so left my email address as requested and was told it would be sent that day (28/7).

On 2/8/21 I sent a text to say I hadn't received the email and received no response.

On 20/8/21 I sent another text, only this time via WhatsApp so that I could see it was sent, when it was received and when it had been read.

This time, surprisingly, I received a response asking for my address, so I resent my email, only to be told they would now send the invoice via post. Whilst strange, I sent my postal address immediately and waited.

After being away for a few days, we returned home on 9/9/21 to find the invoice still had not been sent.

Upon finding nothing, I sent another WhatsApp message saying I had still not received it, which was received and read immediately, and yet upon writing this review on 7/10/21, nearly one month later, I still have not received any response via email, text, phone call, carrier pigeon, smoke signals or anything.

I can only say that this has been an awful experience, an awful company to deal with and an awful way to run a business.

I can only assume that as I paid in cash in full for the work carried out, that is the reason I have never received an invoice, and clearly never will.

As a car enthusiast with several vehicles we are always having work carried out on our cars and therefore use a few trusted businesses locally for various jobs from mechanics, paint and bodywork etc, and recommend the businesses to other like minded individuals, sadly, Stanley Trimmers will not be one of them!

They have done a number of jobs on my Rapier, which have all been well done. However, when they were fitting new carpets I asked them to run a speaker wire from the newly refurbished radio to the boot after the old carpets were taken out. They forgot to do this, and acknowledged their oversight, but offered to retro fit. But after this was done they wanted to charge the full hourly rate for lifting the new carpet, running the cable, and refitting carpet! This for a job that would have taken 5 minutes if they had remembered when the old carpets were removed. So, use them by all means, BUT give them a list of all you want done, and get them to agree, otherwise they may well try to charge you for their oversight. This caused an unpleasant discussion, when the error was all theirs!
