Love this shop. Such an inviting and friendly atmosphere, can't help but grab a coffee whilst in there. They stock the coolest kids clothes and toys...and even a little something for the mama's too!! Some fantastic classes are run upstairs! Would highly recommend a little trip there if you havent been before, just what Mapperley needed!!

Beautiful independent kids shop, full of unique and eco-friendly product! The staff are warm, friendly & helpful, and they also serve delicious coffee and cake.
There is also a great space upstairs which is perfect for party-hire for little ones, and stay & play sessions. We feel lucky to have such a lovely shop right on our local high street!

I can't fault this place! I love it - the girls are incredibly warm, welcoming and they can't do enough to help you! If you need a gift for a little one, a mum-to-be or you need a function room for your young child's birthday - then look no further! It's such a little gem on Mapperley Top... they serve delicious cakes and coffee too (great QUALITY coffee too!) If you haven't visited Alf & Co. then what are you waiting for! Keep up the great work, thank you!

What an amazing, eco-friendly, community shop! I booked a stay and play here and was so impressed. After reading the reviews and seeing a vicious review I could not disagree more! The effort and time that has been put into everything has not gone unnoticed! Lovely vibe and have booked stay and play for 3 more weeks running! Keep up the good work Alf & Co!

Lovely shop with lovely people!
Have to stop myself from going in as always want to buy something.
Staff are always helpful and welcoming.
LOVE the stay and play, each time we go they have different toys out so each visit is different.

This is a super cool shop! Lots of products I haven’t seen anywhere else and some amazing gifts - spoilt for choice! The staff in this shop are super friendly and helpful. Really great to have such a positive retail experience. I also follow them in Insta for updates on new products, etc.

The stay&play is awful! A tiny cold uncarpeted room with a handful of toys. We left after a child smashed a ceramic plant pot which was for some reason fully accessible!

Edit: after reading the response from the owner, I would like to add a few comments.
1. We were unable to make a complaint on the day as there was no staff member around to speak to when we left.
2. It is irrelevant how quickly it was cleaned up, there should not be ceramic plant pots on the floor in a children’s play room! The fact that it was able to smash on the floor suggests how firm the flooring is…
3. For an eco-conscious brand it seems extremely hypocritical to open all the windows and blast the heating.

Also upon arrival we were dripped on by hanging plants that had just been watered and were situated over the reception desk.

To sum up - style over substance, overpriced and poorly executed.

One positive - the shop does seem to have some nice bits…

First off, the change facility in this place is unacceptable as the unit is far too high. When I got upstairs to the stay and play class I felt unsafe on narrow stairs. It took me a few minutes to open the impossible safety gate on my own, as they do not come up with you ever if it's your first time attending. When I finally got into the room I saw slippery, solid wooden flooring, barely any toys which were on thin little rugs which were uncomfortable to sit on and plenty of fashionable looking trendy chairs and table set ups with plants on them for parents. The very few toys that were set out were not great and some were even choking hazards. The music, well the music blaring was adult rnb music and I'm sure I heard swearing at some point in a particular song which is not exactly child friendly. This place seems more focussed on keeping trendy mums happy as a little clicky coffee place and absolutely no focus on the safety of children especially toddlers who are uneasy on their feet. I didnt complain as they would have probably just given me a robotic statement, I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible and not say a word. I did not feel comfortable in this place at all and was worried for my toddlers safety at all times.
