Booking was very easy and they were very helpful and flexible. We already knew where it was, but if you've not been before, give yourself plenty of time to find it - as it is tucked out the way and hard to find in the dark. (Though there is a sign when you get nearby.) Our host Claire was AMAZING! Really knowledgeable about baking, pies, historical traditions and local history - really fascinating. The workshop itself was great, everyone came away with their own pie to chill and bake at home - and there were free samples of pork pie while you worked, which was nice. My only reason for 4 stars is that the room you work in is quite cold, and at first the "butchers" kind of smell was a bit overwhelming for me - but I did get used to it and forgot about it after a while. So if I'd known in advance that it wasn't going to be a nice warm home-economics kind of room, I would have dressed a bit warmer. And you do stand throughout the whole thing, though I believe chairs are available - so that is something to bear in mind, that it's about 2 hours long to stand up. This is a really fantastic thing to do if you are visiting Melton Mowbray, or the surrounding areas.

We had a great time at the pork pie making workshop. Sorry it was 19th April so we can't remember the hosts name but she was really friendly and knowledgeable. She kept a watchful eye to ensure we got the best pies possible. It was really easy to follow and a good length of time. Cooked one of the pies a few days later and it tasted delicious - the other one is still frozen (great to have the option). Thank you!

A wonderful gift of learning how to make a Melton Mowbray Pork pie, all really interesting and fun. We came away with two pork pies each and a very, VERY filling and delicious Ploughman's to eat at home with more pork pie

The Pork Pie Making Experience was absolutely fantastic. This was my first outing since being unwell for some time and I felt safe and was able to wear a mask without feeling awkward.

The lady who led the session (I am sorry I forgot your name) was so lovely and friendly, but also great at teaching us how to make our pork pies.

We took our pies home, baked them and ate them within a few days and they were absolutely delicious. We even got a free pie to take home.

Cannot recommend this activity enough.

Who doesn’t love a proper pork pie!

What an absolutely fantastic experience we’ve had learning the skills to make the famous pork pie - made how it should!

I’m just hoping when we come to cook them over Christmas we follow the instructions down to a T so we don’t end up burning them!!

Fun and interesting evening. Started with a taster of traditional pork pie. This was then followed by the history of the pork pie and Brocklesby's. Then came the fun making our own Melton Mowbray pork pie. Unfortunately there wasn't time to cook it but we were given full cooking and storage instructions to take away with our pies.

Great morning, making pies! To my surprise, even the ones we made were wonderful. Thanks for a unique experience.
