Dorringtons

Best cream cakes bar non. Proper donuts that taste like the real thing and not cake, crispy, gooey meringues with a generous amount of cream. Great bread as well. Not sure about the staffing situation, they seem to have a high turnover.

What can I Say, I just love Dorringtons. The food here is always amazing, albeit I usually just go for Bacon and Brie. the cakes are amazing. and I always seem to end up leaving with planned lunches for the next day or two, with extra cake. My daughter loves the food here too.

The staff are very friendly and will always do what they can to help, or make you a fresh baguette if required.

Inspired by what we saw being made in a tv food programme I phoned the shop and asked,
“Have you got any Meringues?”.... the woman said “yes, we have got Quiche Lorraine” - I replied “No! I want Meringues!” The answer
had me doubting my own sanity... she said,
“We don’t sell Meringues!” In a manner that implied “why would you expect to find Meringues in a CAKE SHOP???”
We decided to make a fish finger sandwich
Instead..... life is too short!

Dorringtons made a very tasty lemon wedding cake for our recent wedding. Phebe was really helpful and arranged for us a cake that was exactly what we wanted taste and appearance wise. The size was generous - we ordered for 60 and still have lots of cake to eat! A nice problem to have.

I ordered my daughter's birthday cake here. Staff are very helpful and nice. The cake is very presentable and tasty. It is not overly sweet like so many other cakes.

Lots of delicious cakes to choose from. Cheery staff who will make your choice of bread roll up for you if they run out. Very popular with the local community.

The staff are super friendly and the bread is always fresh! It's so good to have a bakery in the community.
