The Village Bakery

This is my favourite bakery to visit! Every time I am in the village I have to swing by. Bought some amazing sausage rolls, smiley biscuits, and a great cheese and marmite loaf today.

Becoming progressively more disappointed with every visit. The granary bread is the best around but the cheese straws are always over done verging on burnt and acrid. I find they have a limited selection on sandwich fillings that I find quite bizarre at times and no matter what time or day I visit I haven't been able to get a BLT this year so far. They also no longer do anything hot unless they stick in the microwave which obviously isn't ideal for pastry. I appreciate rising costs but when it is easier and less disappointing to just make something at home, why would you venture out to get a sausage and cucumber tikka sandwich or something similarly absurd.

Lovely local bakery. The staff are direct but efficient and kind! Perfect combination for a great business! Bread is great and so are the jam doughnuts:)

Two somewhat grumpy ladies that don't seem to like male customers.
Perhaps my face didn't fit.
Didn't get a chance to sample the wares. Despite it being 1pm, the ladies standing idle behind the counter and the door being wide open the only conversation after I'd spent a minute or so choosing what I'd wanted then asking about sandwiches was, 'we're closed'.
Not the best experience. They were creepy. Weird mum and daughter..
Get yer grub next door.

The definition of a traditional bakery; delicious fresh cakes, brilliant customer service with a smile, old school vibe and a pleasant experience.

When passing through on my travels I decided to make a stop, and unexpectedly it has climbed to the top of my list of favourite bakeries - I will be back 🤩

A great find in the small village everything made onsite good mi of cakes, pies, sandwiches and bread.

The worst Cappuccino I have ever tasted. Powder mix with boiling water. Yuk. To finish, a dry pasty with very little filling.
