Could not disagree with the one star reviews more. All the sandwiches I’ve had from here have been lovely, the bread is always fresh and there is a decent variety, particularly at the weekends. Yes the selection of cakes is small and relatively traditional but what they do they do really well. And the staff are lovely too.

My dad raved about this place. Hes now very sick and i went up to see him and he asked if i could get him a roll from the bakers. The place was clean. The staff were very disappointing.. no social engagement.. no warmth... nothing. I left feeling a bit annoyed. The rolls were lovely. A smile and good manners wouldnt go amiss .

First and most probably last time visiting this bakery. Service was poor - there were two young women serving customers. One woman was serving an older couple didn’t use gloves and I didn’t see her wash her hands before selecting the bread. She then was using the till. She didn’t look very happy, wasn’t friendly but not unfriendly. Then I purchased a steak pie and requested for it to be hot- there was a used baking sheet already on the tray- this wasn’t changed. Imagine if you were vegetarian or vegan this is not the most sensible thing. Then she proceeded to give me the pie in a brown paper bag- no napkin/ carrier bag. I could have burned my hand! I asked for a napkin for the pie she gave me a singular napkin and then proceeded to serve the next customer. I think management needs to encourage common sense and a friendlier attitude. The bread on display looked nice but I was put off by the poor hand washing standards.

Just fantastic, great; bread, rolls, pastries, croissants, cakes, hot coffee and the best Belgian Buns. But, most importantly the best staff ever, always helpful, smiley and friendly! Keep up the good work and it’s great to have you in the Wood !!!!!

I visit regularly and think the service and the produce are great. The staff are helpful and patient, and on the rare occasion that there's been an issue with my order (e.g. coffee not hot enough) it has been replaced, no questions asked. I wish the festive muffins would come back. Only saw them once and they were delicious! Bring them back please!!

Used to be a fantastic bakery selling amazing pizzas directly from the oven, would often come on quite a detour to visit. Worst decision ever to "renovate" it into what it is. The current selection of food is totally unappealing and the place has lost all it's character. Such a shame.

Disappointed with ever experience with them, I live close to them and buy my bread from there every morning, but they never open on time and if I am there at the opening times they look angry and not happy due to not being ready.
3-4 people wandering around with the bread in the middle of the shop not on the shelves having as excuse the manager is being sick.

The previous meat and veg pasty was far nicer than the new one, mostly because it was nicer pastry but the new one would also benefit from having some swede in it, otherwise the other things I have tried were fine.
