Wenzel's the Bakers

I arrived with an unusual request to make up some specialised sandwiches. Luckily it was a quiet moment in the shop and the manager Jackie was able to accommodate our requests, and even went the extra mile to make sure we had the right mustard. After loitering around for 20 minutes, I am able to say the staff's commitment to customer service is highly commendable. The bread was delicious too!

I went to the bakery on Saturday. I went in to get some crusty rolls and bread. On arrival I noticed that there is no bags to put my rolls in. It was very busy and there was no staff to ask for bags as they were all serving the customers and I didn't want to jump the line to ask for bags. So I grabged my bread and my rolls on my hand trying to balance it all while standing in the line. When i finally got to the till the assistant opened a paper bag for me to put my rolls in but I also had a bread in the other hand and I couldn't manage to put it all in and I wasn't allowed to leave the bread on the counter without any bag. So I dropped a roll. When all of this was happening i told the lady that there is no bags out. she didn't respond and when I said it again when I drop the roll she said "all right I heard you first time"!!!! Well I dont know if she did because she didn't respond the first time!!! Very very rude lady!!! Zero customer service. She didn't say sorry or offered for me to go and get a clean roll no she just made me put the roll in the bag! nothing even though I deserved at least an apology. Zero manners!!! But the bread is delicious and that's why it's 3 stars not 1.

Wanted to share a pleasant experience with the staff members. I visited the store and purchased a baguette and a drink. The man serving at counter suggested we choose a deal and offered us to choose a bag of crisp or doughnuts and explained we could be saving about 40 p.
Really appreciate the staff here who took time to explain the deals and saved us money even during a busy lunch hour.
Definitely would be making wenzels our lunch hub and would recommend it to my colleagues

I came for the pastries and the hot food the other day and was impeccable!!! I will come back to Watford high street just to have their sausage rolls 😋

Wenzels never disappoints me a single day. The man serving me always greets me and he is swift with my order. The cupcakes are the best imo but I feel the prices for the vegan sausage rolls are a bit expensive but they are tasty.
It's a busy shop you might have to wait a few minutes in peak lunch hours. Nevertheless it's a 5 star from me.

The baguettes and sandwiches here are great, the best sandwich in Watford. Last visit I got a seeded bread, I’m still thinking about it 2 weeks later! So good!
