I have been banking with Barclays for of over 50 years and my account has been with this branch for over 40 years. The general level of service has dropped through the floor. I can remember when there was a manager who took an interest in the customers, Today I had to queue for 45 minutes to undertake a transaction that then only took five minutes. This appeared to be because there was only one member of staff who was trained to use the computers. The staff were making customers wait out in the street which, given the weather conditions, was very had on someone of my age.

I was first confused reading all this negative reviews about Baclays Richmond because I received excellent service on the phone. However, everything changed today....I was treated as if I was a liar. They denied my proof of address because it wasn't put on a document proving I was a student. They claim proof of student and address should be on the same document. When I told them how customer service on the phone told me multiple times to bring student ID, regular ID and address he mentioned it can be separate or togheter. Either I received wrong information from the helpful customer service who answered all of my questions or Barclays likes to pick and choose...yikes. After that I quickly went on my phone to showed them proof of address and student ID in on document. That's when the guy said it must be printed out. I pointed at a printer right behind him less than 10 centimeters from him. He went quiet....that`s when I decided to stand up and leave

After 11 years banking with Barclays today I have been refused in this branch printing my bank statements for 1 year despite the fact I'm only registered for paperless statements so in fact the bank do not post any statements to my home adress. And I needed those statements urgently for tax purpose.

I have been appalled by the lack of competent people in this branch over the last few years.There is a constant change in staff who are never able to offer help, all they say is go on your app. The staff seem to be getting more low grade over the years unable to do simple things like Chaps payments. You get directed into a cubicle to speak to someone based in the north to say "we can't do this over the phone". Total waste of time to go to a branch nowadays.

My company has banked with Barclays for 5 years. We initially selected Barclays because in our opinion it was the most hardcore of the capitalist banking sector having never taken the governments hand outs in 2008. I have been told by Greenpeace and Extinction Rebellion that since 2015 (when the Paris climate accord was agreed) that out of all the banks in Europe Barclays has invested the most in fossil fuels - In particular coal. As a valued customer (they write and tell me), I question how Barclays can invest in fossil fuels when quite clearly the science tells us that this will lead to un controlled climate change. I was at school in the 1980's and thats what they were telling us and presumably the message still hasn't filtered through to Barclays yet which is strange since they regularly have protests outside their branches. Perhaps they do not have ears or eyes or children?

No counter staff on, and a one in one out door policy. Transaction completed efficiently without the need of extra ID if using the banking app to confirm it's you in the bank 🏦 😀
